 The Alpha 2 of the game that is revolutionizing the gaming landscape on Linux, 0 AD This Alpha has the name "Bellerophon". If you want to enjoy this wonderful game, keep reading.


If you liked the mythical Age Of Empires or Civilization you cannot miss 0 AD This Open Source game is developed by the Wild Fire Games team that recently decided to release the game code.

Among others, the notable changes are the following:

  • New graphical user interface for the game
  • "Fog of war"
  • New unit tracking camera mode
  • Better pathfinder performance
  • Improvements with the inclusion of health bars, population limits or basic formations
  • New maps
  • New artistic details like remodeled Celtic buildings

To install it in Ubuntu 9.10 or higher we will use a PPA repository. Let's run the following in terminal.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: wfg / 0ad
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install 0ad
Note: the package is quite large, be careful if you do not have a good internet connection

With this we can already enjoy this magnificent game.
