Chinese giant and Dell launch Mobile with Android Fork

From xda-developers.com I get this news, and as is customary now ... I translate from EN to ESP, so that those who are less knowledgeable in English can enjoy it 😀

Dell y Baidu, the Chinese giant with more than 80% of the market in its country, announced on Tuesday the Streak pro (Via ComputerWorld). The device has a 4.3 screen AMOLED With a resolution of 960 × 540, it has a Qualcoom 1.5 GHz dualcore processor. But what stands out the most is its operating system: a fork de Android called baiduyi, which replaces the services of Google for services of Baidu.

This is similar to Kindle Fire de Amazon, which also comes with a completely customized version of Android, replacing Google's services with Amazon's. However, while Android tablets have not been particularly well received, the Kindle Fire has sold close to a million units in just three weeks, probably being the case, the tablet with Android best-selling so far. The really cheap price (only $ 199) is without a doubt the main attraction and reason for success, but also the strength of Amazon is that it focuses on "entertainment", which translates into a music and movie store, rivaling the music store of Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), and vastly beating Google on this plane.

The same could apply to the Chinese manufacturer.

Most Chinese consumers do not use Google services, especially since they were blocked... now with this possibility that it offers Baidu, could enjoy the same acceptance that counts Kindle Fire.

All this only favors the problems of fragmentation of Android, without benefiting Google absolutely. It remains to be seen to what extent this will affect the long-term prospects for Androidespecially with developers who, despite faster market share growth, are still reluctant to put Android about iOS in the development of new applications.

And here the news ends 😀

This in the end, could greatly benefit Android. Well let's think ... developers who create applications for this fork of Android Chinese, well those apps will work in Android, so we will all benefit 😀

Anyway, what it looks like is good news for everyone 😉

regards

Well done very well although I do not know, as it is somewhat hypocritical because Dell is the one that sells computers with the Africa distro.

But at least on mobiles they no longer have a company involved who knows what will happen to Android.

The bad thing is that it is from China, we already know that what is Made In China in some fields is to cry and cut like emos

If they fork Android they have to pay Google and Oracle. One for the OS and the other for Dalvik, the fork of the java virtual machine.
And as "ubuntoso", the only thing I can say is that I have never seen a DELL PC with the distro. At least not in Mexico, since they were announced. Nor on the page they put it as an alternative, at most they put FreeDos.
I agree with Made In China.
      Greetings.

On the dell spain website, if you put ubuntu, the pc's of del with ubuntu xd appear

        http://search.euro.dell.com/results.aspx?s=gen&c=es&l=es&cs=&k=ubuntu&cat=all&x=0&y=0

From what I see in Spain there was. Although they are mostly computers for business and work, not so much for normal users. In Mexico they did not offer them because most people do not know Linux, much less Ubuntu. Even so, look for models and the only option when customizing them from OS is Windows 7. Probably not to reduce prices, the cheapest model cost around 1600 USD, that is, 1300 €

Please give me some examples of "Made in China in some fields is something to cry on"

Made In China guitars are shit, Made In China amps are shit, everything they sell in Chinese stores is shit, etc.

I asked you why all the components of PCs, electrical appliances and other electronic devices say made in China. recently they put into orbit the first module of a space station, therefore I think that it cannot be generalized, since in all the countries articles that are a mi… are produced.

          1.    Courage said

Man the Japanese build from PM for example. And what about the components according to the range, if we go to the top of the range, surely they are not made in China

    Hola!

I got to know your blog yesterday after the Burjans Christmas greetings in Com-SL, and the truth is that I have been impressed with everything you have published so far (and I did not know it!).

I was also surprised to see how much some of your readers love us (I mean MuyLinux, of course), since the slightest bit of discussion arises we are relentlessly cited as an evil to avoid.

If I may, I am going to give a little advice to those responsible for the site, I understand that you are elav and KZKG ^ Gaara: there is nothing you can do to avoid being a new "MuyLinux", because if you continue to grow in number of readers and comments, it just is what it is. As proof you have any blog that works well.

So I would ask you not to try to avoid it, to continue expressing yourself as you see fit, without fear of the comments of those who join the fire that heats the most when they are interested and when it is not, they are "rebellious". And if you are wrong then it is rectified and period, that nobody is perfect.

Articles like "Firefox 9: More of the same" or "I Love Opera" would have made MuyLinux many comments, some of which were very angry. And I do not agree with what is said in either of them, but I would have no problem publishing something like that if I thought it appropriate, as I hope you will continue to do.

Nothing else. Apologies for the off-topic, greetings and congratulations on the blog, you already have one more reader.

      Welcome MetalByte ^^:

Well yes, I see that you found out about the number of Fans that you have spread throughout the world hahahaha, but it's normal. Thank you very much for the advice and believe me we follow it to the letter. Many people forget the goal of a blog, especially when it is personal. In my blog or in my articles I am free to put what I want and of course, there will always be the one who thinks the same, similar or different from me and that does not really worry me. The person who reads me is supposed to do so because in a certain way he likes what I write or the way I write it.

I have not put a knife to anyone's neck to enter DesdeLinux. And colleague KZKG^Gaara must think the same. Here everyone is free to give their opinion and think as they want. This blog already has a couple of collaborators, and each one writes what they understand according to their way of thinking, although of course, some guidelines could be taken into account to maintain order, an identity and so that this does not become anarchy hahaha. So nothing, like all the other users who pass by here, we welcome you and when you want to give your opinion, don't limit yourself to typing whatever comes to mind.

      regards

Hello and welcome MetalByte (assuming you are not a copy / fork LOL !!!)
Ya elav He answered you, however I also leave my point of view.

Our main objective is to reach the reader, publish topics of general interest, we do not try to please a single type of user (for example, publish only X distro articles), but we also try to create a community, in the broadest concept of the word . Bearing in mind that not always 100% of readers will agree with our articles, but if so ... then it would not be worth publishing.

Now, you will excuse my frankness but… you are in error, I do not think it is completely inevitable as you say.
First of all, we are already making room for some articles, which will help our editors to be more objective (so to speak), try to be as neutral as possible. Also, the number of visits is not our "measure" of how well we are doing the job, as it is not always directly proportional to the quality of the articles. An example of this might be a simple «Windows VS Linux"Or a"Debian VS Ubuntu«, No matter how objective they are, they would generate a flamewar and voila, thousands of visits; even though their quality is far from being acceptable.

Not to mention, we do not want to look like any other site, understand MuyLinux, WebUp8, OMG !, GenBeta or any other. We have our idea of what we want to be, a “vision” of where we want to go, and so far… I can guarantee you that no other place is similar to this “vision”.

As for what you mention how much their readers love them, it has nothing to do with our site. Neither elav nor have I left unobjective negative comments about MuyLinux. Although I have my very personal opinion about you and about you in particular, I reserve it because it is given by facts and / or actions that it is not worth mentioning.

Anyway, I've already made this too long.
A pleasure to read your comment.

Greetings and we hope to continue reading you.

First of all the truth is that I did not expect such an answer from you, and since we are going to do as one of the bosses, give my opinion.

There will always be people who insult on successful blogs, whatever their name, but that's what we are for, to moderate in a non-arbitrary way and to write in a certain way, of course each one maintains his style but always giving some unbiased data.

For the record, I don't look at anyone in particular, and I also think you know very well that I have nothing against you.

By the way, many readers here are metalheads like you or me, apart from KZKG ^ Gaara who is a poser, so you will not see reggaeton players hahaha

    Hello again,

The first thing to clarify that I am not a copy / fork xD In fact now that I have added you it is possible that one day I will quote you in MuyLinux, if it does not bother you, of course (yes, there are those who have been bothered).

Second and especially aimed at KZKG ^ Gaara, if I am in error or you will not be able to assure me in a while, for now you have to settle down and grow, whatever your objective is. The point is, it doesn't matter what you want, but what there is. And "what is there" when you have hundreds of comments from people very different from each other, with very different knowledge from each other (but a lot!), Is that you cannot control them, unless you pull out the scissors. Nor does it matter that you want to create a community or do something totally new, because at one point you are publishing information on the Internet, as we do, Genbeta or the communities of esDebian, Espacio Linux, etc. The "Windows VS Linux" or "Debian VS Ubuntu" many try, but not everyone. And with regard to MuyLinux, there are those who can mess with the quality of our articles, because with everything that we have published there is a lot of good but also a lot of the bunch, but it doesn't even matter (someone who has been working professionally in development tells you web and online publications since 2004). In short, in a couple of years we will return to this conversation, to see how things are at that moment 😉

And I can not stay without answering Courage, because you can see that little by little he is maturing, leaving behind his facet of maximum troll. I'm glad, because you write quite well, without spelling mistakes, and I really appreciate that. You say that you have nothing against me, and I have nothing against you either, but as you will understand, I had to censor those comments in which you literally shit on the fucking mother of the «ubunto» on duty, among other niceties that weren't worth rescuing. By the way, what is it that you did not expect such an answer from me?

Well, I'm done with the billet now. The next time I come here it will be to comment on some news, so a greeting to elav, KZKG ^ Gaara and Courage, and to those who read us in silence waiting for a mess that they will not find xD

PS: How do I get my distro to appear in the responses? The invention amused me hehe.

The mother of the ubunto XDDDDDDDD.

Say hello to everyone except me ee, arghhhh xD.

Have gotten into the conversation old man

For one that I don't get involved ... LOL

    2.    Courage said

Man I know the distro you use but for this you have to configure the Firefox UserAgent

      https://blog.desdelinux.net/tips-como-cambiar-el-user-agent-de-firefox/

Man here I do not shit on anyone's mother because they throw me out hahaha. I expected another type of response from you because there is every comment here ... I don't know, I would be upset if it were you

      1.    pandev92 said

And those of us who use chakra and opera can't show what distro we have Oo?

        1.    Courage said

You have to send the svg to the sandy so that he can put it

        2.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

Chakra does not appear in the comments, I have to modify the plugin to support Chakra (yes ... I know I have said it several times before and I still do not do it haha, this next year I promise to do it LOL !!!)

    3.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

      Hello again.

If what we publish seems interesting to you, we are already satisfied, if you want to quote us, mention us or something similar on our part there is no problem, as long as you mention us (which on another occasion, you have not done it, also ignoring comments mine).

On the second, do not worry ... as you have said yourself, time will have the last word.

About Courage… LOL !!! Yes, all the credit is his, he is the one who has focused a little more on the articles, has managed to grow and be more objective than he was before (at least that's how I see it). His comments are now more "moderate" or less "out of tune", as you can see, censoring may be the easiest option, but at least I do not think it should always be the one to take 😀 (and I clarify, I do not criticize the attitude that they took with him in MuyLinux, I would have done something similar).

Now, for the distro to appear in the answers you must modify the UserAgent of the browser, I don't think I have to explain much about this because you should know about it 😉
Also, you should get the distro you use in the top banner.

Anyway, greetings and we hope to continue reading here 🙂

Well, I have reviewed what you tell me because if there is something you can be sure of, it is that in MuyLinux we always cite the sources. So I have looked for your nick in the comments and you mean the entry of Muon. The truth is that I did not answer you because I did not realize it, as it happens sometimes (I always try to check the comments, but I cannot keep up with everything, and if a couple of days have passed since the news was published, how is it? the case, even worse).

I found the image via Google, and I didn't even look at the site, I just used it. My fault, I'm sorry. The truth is that I don't give much importance to those things. Many of the images that we publish in MuyLinux are ours, either our own captures or compositions (with designs from others, yes, usually freely distributed), and in many places they use them without giving credit, which, as I say, I don't care (if not we would put watermarks or something like that). I mean that the image of Muon was about two icons on a desktop background that, if I'm not mistaken, you didn't originally design. And don't take it the wrong way! It is that speaking of rights of publication of images does not matter so much if you are the author of the original graphics or of a composition of the same. In any case, it is a complex issue in which we have to apply ourselves.

        1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

Don't worry, the past is past.
As I said in the post, it was not my intention to get links or advertising. What happens is that I am used to citing sources, many times without it being mandatory or absolutely necessary, even when the images come out of Google or similar.
Although we have that of Creative Commons in the footer, I know that as long as it's not malicious or something like that, no problem.
I already told you ... don't worry, the past is past.

Anyway, don't take my comments the wrong way, it's really not the intention 😉 (I know that I can be a bit heavy ...)
A pleasure to read you 😀
          regards

@Courage, obviously, I'm not going to bother answering every comment from the crowd, it's not worth it in MuyLinux or anywhere else. I waste time with who I want and with nobody else 😉

@ pandev92, a greeting to you too, man (you're Francesco, aren't you? It's that you scratch me with so much nickname change).

Well, let's see if Gecko is out now or what 🙂
