For today, and continuing with another Tutorial in our current series of publications about LibreOffice, the most well-known and used Office Suite in the Linuxverse, called «Learning LibreOffice» and focused on the knowledge and learning of the «Keyboard shortcuts for each of the LibreOffice tools (Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math, and Base), we offer you this fourth one about Draw.

If you're one of those who doesn't yet know and use LibreOffice—because you most likely use MS Office or one of the few proprietary, closed, and paid/free alternatives for Windows—it's important for you to know a few things. For example, LibreOffice is visually similar to MS Office. It's also highly compatible with MS Office's proprietary formats, namely DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPTS, PPTX, and other familiar formats from its other tools.

Current LibreOffice Draw 25.2 Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts are key combinations that allow you to perform specific actions in an operating system, application or program quickly, without having to use the mouse or navigate through menus. Their main purpose is to optimize productivity, reduce the time spent on repetitive tasks and facilitate access to frequently used functions.

Using the function keys

Then These are the keyboard shortcuts related to or associated with the existing Function Keys, which allow us to access useful features of this tool:

Shift + Tab

Select the next object.

Home

Select the first object.

Lesson finish date

Select the last object.

I

Cancel selection.

Arrows

Move the object in the direction of the arrows.

Arrow in the graphics

Move the selected segment of the pie chart in the direction of the arrow.

F2 in the Titles

Start text input mode.

F3

Open the group so that the components can be edited separately (in the legend and data series).

Ctrl + F3

Exit the group (in the legend and data series).

+ / -

Reduce or enlarge the graph.

+ / – In the graphs

Moves the selected segment to the center or outside of the pie chart.

LibreOffice Draw is a vector graphics drawing program, which also supports simple management of raster graphics (pixel). Therefore, it is ideal for quickly generating a wide range of variety of graphic images. And since it is fully integrated into the LibreOffice suite, it makes exchanging graphics between the components of it. Therefore, creating an image in Draw, and reusing it (copy/paste) in a Writer document or another of the LibreOffice apps, it is something really simple and easy to do.
