For today, and continuing with another Tutorial in our current series of publications about LibreOffice, the most well-known and used Office Suite in the Linuxverse, called «Learning LibreOffice» and focused on the knowledge and learning of the «Keyboard shortcuts for each of the LibreOffice tools (Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math, and Base), we offer you this third one about Impress.

And as in previous and successive installments, we are sure that these and other new Tutorials and Quick Guides on and in favor of our iconic LibreOffice office suite, will benefit many at any time. Especially those who are not yet familiar with it or may be just starting to use it for study and work purposes. If you're one of those who doesn't yet know and use LibreOffice—because you most likely use MS Office or one of the few proprietary, closed, and paid/free alternatives for Windows—it's important for you to know a few things. For example, LibreOffice is visually similar to MS Office. It's also highly compatible with MS Office's proprietary formats, namely DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPTS, PPTX, and other familiar formats from its other tools.

Keyboard shortcuts are key combinations that allow you to perform specific actions in an operating system, application or program quickly, without having to use the mouse or navigate through menus. Their main purpose is to optimize productivity, reduce the time spent on repetitive tasks and facilitate access to frequently used functions.

Using the function keys

Then These are the keyboard shortcuts related to or associated with the existing Function Keys, which allow us to access useful features of this tool:

There are also keyboard shortcuts for running slides within a running presentation:

KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS EFFECT
Esc or – Finish presentation.
Mouse click, space bar, →, ↓, Page Down, Enter, Return Play next effect (if any, if not, go to next slide).
Alt+down arrow Go to the next slide without playing effects.
[number] + Enter Type a slide number and press Enter to go to that slide.
Right mouse button click, ←, ↑, Page Up, Backspace Play previous effect again. If there is no previous effect on this slide, show the previous slide.
Alt+Page Down Go to the previous slide without playing the effects.
Home Jump to the first slide of the slideshow.
Lesson finish date Jump to the last slide in the slideshow.
Ctrl + Page Up Go to the previous slide.
Ctrl + Page Down Go to the next slide
B or . Display black screen until a key is pressed or the mouse wheel is scrolled.
W o , Display a blank screen until a key is pressed or the mouse wheel is scrolled.
P Activate the pointer as pencil mode
E Erase all added ink from the slide's pencil mode
Ctrl + A Disable the pointer as pen mode

Plus key (+) More buzz.
Minus key (-) Less buzz.
Multiply (×) key (numeric keypad) Fit page to window.
Split (÷) key (numeric keypad) Increase zoom in the current selection.
Shift+Ctrl+G Group selected objects.
Shift + Ctrl + Alt + A Separate selected group.
Ctrl+click Enter a group to edit its individual objects. Click outside the group to return to normal mode.
Ctrl + Shift + K Combine the selected objects.
Ctrl+Alt+Shift+K Split the selected object. This combination only works on an object created by combining two or more objects.
Ctrl+Plus key Bring to the front.
Shift+Ctrl+Plus key Bring forward.
Ctrl+ Minus key Send back.
SShift+Ctrl+Minus key Send to back.
