Hacked Microsoft Sales website in India

Another site that falls these days, one more in the wave of attacks that are taking place on the network.

The site of Microsoft sales in India (www.microsoftstore.co.in) is in fact still offline, the screenshot I show you above is an HTML file that you put into it. The authors of this is the group EvilShadow, a group of Chinese hackers who not only did this, but also have all the users, passwords and other data of the accounts that were registered on this site:

The start of the site before was this:

While now you see this:

Hackers put a link to su Blog, and in their blog there is interesting information. For example, as you can see in the screenshot of the users and passwords, these were stored in plain text, without any protection method.

They say they modified the start of the site as a method to get Microsoft's attention, a way to alert them and make them see the poor security that their system offers.

According to a report by IDG's John Ribero, Microsoft started an investigation of what they call «slightly compromised security»… To which I reply: If that's slightly (or limited), I don't want to know your concept of« complete disaster »completo

Anyway. A piece of news that doesn't have much (or very little) to do with SWL, but it certainly catches my attention 😀

Greetings 😉

PD: The screenshots are thanks to the posts of VentureBeat.com y Arstechnica.com

It is actually well written, but being a very old expression it was modified. Example: September, September. Both ways are correct
