The new version of Nextcloud Hub 10 is now available and arrives offering a wide set of improvements designed to optimize productivity, security and, above all, improving integration with artificial intelligence tools.
This update introduces key features in file management, team communication, task automation, also brings performance improvements, thousands of tweaks to improve user experience and stability, your new personal assistant, workflow automation for the public sector, a sleeker and more compact design and much more.
New features in the interface
In this new version, which is presented from Nextcloud Hub 10, Interactive widgets have been incorporated into the dashboard, such as “Favorite Files,” which allows quick access to the most frequently used documents, and “Nextcloud Talk,” which makes it easy to interact with recent chats. In the chat interface it is now possible to schedule meetings directly on the calendar, automatically linking events to conversations in Nextcloud Talk.
In addition to that, In team collaboration, it is now possible to assign specific folders to teams within the platform. Administrators can manage these folders and monitor group activity through the Nextcloud Activity app.
Another of the improvements that Nextcloud Hub 10 presents is in the system Smart Picker, which now supports the use of text templates for rapid generation of responses and content within Nextcloud Hub. AI tools have also been added to summarize voice calls, extract the most relevant from the last 100 unread messages, and analyze meeting transcripts.

Nextcloud Assistant has been updated to run actions on various applicationss, such as scheduling events on the calendar, the Sending messages in Nextcloud Talk and email dispatching from Nextcloud Mail. A flexible system has also been implemented to define which AI engine will be used in each function, allowing the combination of models such as ChatGPT for text summarization and local models for translations.
Performance and security improvements
On the performance side, the following speed and efficiency optimizations have been made:
- Upload files up to 6 times faster, allowing, for example, a 10 GB file to take less than 195 seconds to just 45.
- Automatic resumption of interrupted loads.
- Lower resource consumption on Nextcloud Talk calls, file synchronization and document search.
- Optimizing background processes to improve system fluidity.
As for security, End-to-end encryption for calls has been added to Nextcloud Talk and file browsing in Nextcloud Files. In addition, implemented additional restrictions on mobile devices, such as mandatory biometric authentication (FaceID, fingerprint) and the ability to limit certain features, such as connecting multiple accounts or accessing sensitive settings.
To prevent brute force attacks, It is now possible to limit the number of failed authentication attempts. The option to save Nextcloud backups to an external server and restore them when needed has also been added.
Of the other changes that stand out:
- Search for messages in chats.
- Compact mode for conversation list.
- Ability to archive chats without leaving them.
- Autoplay grouped voice messages.
- Zoom and pan on shared screens during video calls.
- Time limits on webinars and video conferences.
- Sending email invitations to external participants.
- Generating surveys in meetings with import/export options.
- Nextcloud Files now allows you to navigate and manage documents using keyboard shortcuts, assign colors to labels, link labels to multiple files at once, and convert formats from the context menu.
- Nextcloud Mail has optimized its translation system and added AI features to detect mentions of people in emails. The calendar now features automated tools to invite entire groups to events and define schedules that influence (or not) the user's availability status.
- Updates to Office Apps and Mobile Clients
- Nextcloud Office Apps have integrated an AI assistant, new document style options, quick text replacement, and support for custom dictionaries.
- The mobile versions for iOS and Android have improved the experience with a unified search, quick access to notes, recommended files, and improvements to offline work. Meanwhile, the desktop clients have optimized their interface to better adapt to each operating system.
