Continuing this August 2026 with our series of posts on free, open-source Artificial Intelligence tools available for the desktops of our beloved GNU/Linux distributions, today we'll explore another one called " Pinokio , " a bit different from the three we've already covered ( LM Studio , AnythingLLM , and Jan ). If you've never seen, read, or heard of it before, let me briefly mention that it's a "Localhost Cloud" type tool (a cloud that operates privately and locally on your own machines). Therefore, it can easily run various software locally, such as applications, AI tools, agents, and web servers.
