For those readers who are not familiar with Red Hat Enterprise Linux as well known by its acronym RHEL I can tell you that this is a commercial distribution of GNU / Linux developed by Red Hat.

It is the commercial version based on Fedora which in turn is based on the previous Red Hat Linux, similarly to how Novell SUSE Enterprise (SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop and SLE Server) is with respect to OpenSUSE or Mandriva Corporate with respect to Mandriva Linux One.

While new versions of Fedora come out every 6 months or so, RHEL ones usually come out every 18 to 24 months.

Each of these versions has a series of value-added services on the basis of which your business is based (support, training, consulting, certification, etc.)

Each version released currently has support for at least 10 years from the release date of GA (General Availability) (or version ending in .0), during this time, several stages of support are divided.
