Wikipedia could be in danger because of the new European copyright law

The European Parliament has not been one of the toughest with free and open source software, in fact it has contributed in one way or another with it and has even allocated funds for the development of some free projects. However, a new Directive on Copyright who got ready to vote on June 20 of this year in the European Parliament could go against some interesting projects that we all use and feed on. However, we will have to wait to see what happens, since everything has not yet been decided and several groups that defend digital rights are intensifying their campaigns and actions to oppose it ...

Si net neutrality it has already been endangered in the US as we well know, and we also saw the media scandals that have erupted lately such as the sale of personal data by Facebook that brought its CEO to court and a whole host of reforms in the GDPRs of many of the services that we have contracted, which has produced a flood of emails for us to accept these reformed policies, now it seems that we are facing another new threat.

The coke between freedom of information and copyright is guaranteed, but we will see how both are rebalanced and in favor of which of the two sentences the European Union, because in the case of doing it for copyright, such successful and well-known projects as the Wikipedia could be in danger. And not only that, what the new law says would also be against many blogs and bloggers who publish certain articles and even many of the WIki sites that we use daily, not just Wikipedia.

If approved, articles and content from Wikipedia and other Wikis could have to be withdrawn, news or links to articles or news would also be under scrutiny, etc., in fact, the law is so restrictive and at the same time ridiculous, that something as popular and innocent as memes would also be in danger. We will be awaiting news on this subject, but it is not a pleasant reform.
