AMD releases update for Radeon GPU Analyzer and improves support for Vulkan

AMD ATI

AMD has released a new update of your open source project Radeon GPU Analyzer and it contains great improvements. The company is making great efforts to improve its open source drivers, you just have to look at the difference between free drivers from NVIDIA and proprietary drivers to realize that the competition is not doing quite right. On the other hand, when we compare the free AMDGPU or Radeon with their proprietary equivalents, such as AMDGPU PRO, not so distant in terms of performance ...

This is a pretty good thing, and even more so if we consider that years ago NVIDIA graphics cards had a better support for Linux than the ATI (company acquired by AMD to have a graphics division). That has changed quickly and surely all users who use AMD products appreciate it, although it is true that there are still some tools for NVIDIA products that are not available in AMD and some things have to be done in a somewhat more manual way in certain cases, such as overclocks ...

Radeon GPU Analyzer is a compiler and code analysis tool for the unfamiliar. Supports high-level shading, and some languages used by graphical APIs such as DirectX, OpenGL, OpenCL and also the famous and powerful Vulkan. Among the languages are some as well known as HLSL, GLSL, OpenCL and also SPIR-V. Well now, thanks to this new update, support for Vulkan is even better.

The version we are referring to is the 2.1 and not only has better support for Vulkan, but other improvements such as the correction of some bugs from previous versions, better usability for developers, ability to compile SPIR-V binaries, and much more. Work has also been done on support for the latest AMD GPU architectures. And the best thing is that it supports Linux, with distros like Ubuntu 18.04 or RHEL 7, among others.
