Android drivers return in Kernel Linux 3.3

From h-online.com I find out about this news.

It happens that thanks to Greg Kroah-Hartman drivers Android one once they were withdrawn of the kernel (Linux v2.6.33) in the past year 2010, they will be back in the Linux kernel (v3.3) 🙂

The idea is that in this version (3.3), it is already possible to start an Android device without having to be putting patches or something like that in the kernel as such. However, not everything will move from the branch or development area (where the drivers are currently located) to the stable branch, I don't know why ... I imagine it's temporary.

The example they tell us is that the code of WakeLock (increases battery life) is not included.

The Electronic Consumers group (of the Linux Foundation) in conjunction with several other developers, are working together with Kroah-Hartman in this project. Tim Bird, president of the Architecture Group, has put on going el Mainlining Android project with the aim of coordinating the integration work of Android features. Developers interested in helping to integrate Android patches into the main core can sign up for the project mailing list.

And well, this is it 😀

Android I've always said it, it has a LOT of potential ... I think there is no doubt about that. I will bring you another article on Android on computers, wait for it 🙂

regards

I know some programming for Android, I am just learning, and for PCs you will refer to Android x86, I understand that it is optimized for Asus Eee computers, I have tried it on my netbook, a hp mini, on a virtual machine and it does not work fine net, but otherwise worth a try.

Indeed, even ethernet is not the only one that presents problems. As I said, I am finishing an article talking about Android on other platforms, we will publish it soon (today possibly) 😀
