We have always dreamed of having a device with Android to test it and enjoy its benefits, but for reasons that are now irrelevant, none of the members of <° Linux we have been able to obtain any mobile device with this OS.
But via Very linux I find out that we can already have Android on our PC, a piece of news that I'm sure will make more than one happy, including myself. This version of Android is based on the branch 2.3.5 Android Gingerbread and it is adapted to run on computers with X86 chips.
What news does it include?
- Kernel 2.6.39.4 with KMS enabled, allowing netbooks to run Android x86 in native resolution.
- Hardware acceleration OpenGL for chipsets Intel y AMD Radeon.
- Support WiFi y Ethernet.
- New graphical installer that supports partitions ext2 / ext3 / ntfs / fat32.
- Support Bluetooth.
- Support for external drives USB and for cards SD.
- A software mouse cursor has been added, and the mouse wheel is also supported
Download isos can be found at this link. In the article of Very linux, they left us a screenshot of Android running on a PC 😀
I really need some help over here!
Any idea how to configure a wired ethernet network (RJ45) in Android 2.2…. ??
