Install Android_X86 along with other GNU / Linux distributions

Today there are all kinds of products to distract our attention, or rather, capture it. I often see users playing There Day (Maybe because of the amount of publicity it has, those who play Subway Surf will know what I'm talking about) while I or a friend of mine tries to do something in Bash, with Android_X86 o Linux in general.

This time I bring you an article that I read a few days ago in humanOS, the author is Jacobo who explains how after installing Android_X86 (for PC) on our computer we can add an entry to Grub, so that our Grub will have Android_X86 and the Linux distros that we have installed.

How to use Android X86 together with GNU / Linux?

When we install Android_X86 it will "remove" Grub from us, more or less like Windows does, so we must retrieve our grub.

Once we have Grub back, we must add a line that allows us to access Android_X86, which is installed in a partition of our HDD.

To do this, just add a few lines to the file /boot/grub/grub.cfg and put this «menuentry»:

menuentry 'Android 4.4 (on / dev / sda7)' {set root = 'hd0, msdos7' linux /android-4.4-RC1/kernel quiet root = / dev / ram0 androidboot.hardware = android_x86 video = -16 SRC = / android -4.4-RC1 initrd /android-4.4-RC1/initrd.img}
Valid to clarify that / dev / sda7 is the HDD and partition where I have installed Android_X86, you must change this for the HDD and partition where you installed it. The same happens with 'hd0, msdos7'… hd0 means that it is the first hard disk of our computer, msdos7 means partition number 7.

Then we do a:

sudo update-grub

And voila, we will have in our Grub to access Android_X86.

clarifications

If you look at the lines that we put in the file, I tell Grub that the folder where the system is located is called android-4.4-RC1, if you install any other version you must change this folder that I put for the one you installed, that is, by the version of the Android that they installed.

There are some applications that do not work, for example some of office automation, however the games should work without problems, so ... those who want to play Hay Day free, that is, without buying an Android device, this is a solution.

Anyway this is it. The credit for Jacobo, this time I only share the information.

A good option to remove advertising is AdAway. How does it work? Very simple: when an app launches an ad (advertisement / advertisement), be it a pop-up or a panel that remains on the edge of the screen, this application redirects it to the IP address: 127.0.0.1, thus changing it to your old IP. What happens then? Goodbye advertising, it's that simple. If the ad was a pop-up it just won't appear. If it was a panel, the panel will appear a panel the same size as the advertisement but in black and if we click on it, nothing will happen.
      I hope it helps you.
You can download AdAway from the excellent F-Droid application center. It requires root and occupies about 3 MB.

Android X86 for PCS I already saw them in experimental mode back in 2009, at first Google INC invested 10,000,000 U $$ in that project and now it has become massively massive, what does not convince me is how Uncle Google saves your downloaded applications from Google Play, also Chrome / Chromium modules to send all your online browsing remotely to g00g73.
You also can't customize it to be absolutely anonymous, like in Firefox.

You can also add the menuenyry in
    /etc/grub.d/40_custom
I thus have a dual boot freebsd-ubuntu, it would still work for the android.

In my opinion android should not be mixed with free software since it comes from the largest spy camouflaged google and it is not totally free, it only uses a linux kernel modified by themselves, there are no shortage of those who believe that having a linux kernel is one of clean wheat Being google and google does not have many differences with microsoft, 2 multimillion-dollar monopolist companies and spies, if you are fooled, if windows were changed to gnu / linux, what is the point of changing or using google?

Alex are you writing from Android? I say this because the icon shows that you write from Android and Firefox. Only that.

I use useragent, I share the internet from my cell phone and so I don't spend so much data, now windows will appear

What you mention is the norm in the Linux world. Most would support and love the devil himself just for having the linux kernel. And it gets worse, just look at how people scream about SteamOS, which they already baptize as 'the chosen one that will lead Linux to conquer the world' (and if it would not tone Chromeos, another pearl). It is as if they forgot that it is a closed company, a closed platform, of totally closed software and that it has totally 'closed' objectives.
For one thing it is clear, Microsoft and Apple are always bad.

The only problem with android x86 is that some applications rotate the screen and caput ... but it works quite well, be careful with those who do not have sse3 (old athlon's and atom's), there is a magic so that everything works well (the same as it was done with meego - although I think it was with sse2: mmm)

    A query as I find out where said image is installed or hosted as in the example linux /android-4.4-RC1/kernel quiet root = / dev / ram0 androidboot.hardware = android_x86 video = -16 SRC = / android-4.4-RC1
    initrd /android-4.4-RC1/initrd.img

    Hi all:

    I have 4 partitions on a laptop:
    sda1 with boot
    sda2 with linux mint
    sda3 with windows 10
    sda4 with linuxMint

after having installed dual boot with linux Mint and windows 10 I have launched to install Android on the sda4 (and go to a triple boot) and I have found that it only detects windows 10, DOES NOT DETECT linux Mint, leaving me a dual boot Android and Windows 10. In the menu where you choose the operating system appears:

    ANDROID-X86 9.0-R2
    ANDROID-X86 9.0-R2 (Debug mode)
    ANDROID-X86 9.0-R2 (Debug nomodeset)
    ANDROID-X86 9.0-R2 (Debug video = LVDS-1: d)
    Windows

Anticipating that when restoring the grub with the linux installation USB stick, I would have to manually enter the Menuentry, I chose the ANDROID-X86 9.0-R2 line and clicked “e” (edit) to find out what to manually enter in the / etc file /grub.d/40_custom
    What comes out is:
    kernel /android-9.0r2/kernel quiet root = / dev / ram0 SRC = / android-9.0-r2.initrd /android-9.0-r2/initrd.img

How should I enter the "menuentry" in the grub.d / 40_custom file?

    Thank you very much.
