Anonymous message at the close of Megaupload

As our colleague Tina Toledo informed us in this news Megaupload has been closed.

As a result of this Anonymous has sent a response to this, the information is provided to us by nerjamartin in the forum:

Citizens of the United States, We are Anonymous.

That is an urgent emergency alert to all the people of the United States. Unfortunately, the day we've all been waiting for has arrived. The United States is censoring the Internet. Our obvious answer is that we will not sit by while our rights are taken away by the government we trust to preserve them. This is not a rallying cry, but a call for recognition and action!

The United States government has mastered this corrupt way of giving us a false sense of freedom. We think that we are free and we can do what we want, but in reality we are very limited and restricted as to what we can do, how we can think, and even how we get our education. We have been so distracted by this mirage of freedom that we have become what we were trying to escape from.

For too long we have stood idly by while our brothers and sisters were arrested. During this time, the government has been colluding, devising mechanisms to increase censorship by blocking Internet service providers, DNS blocks, Internet search engine censorship, web page censorship, and a variety of methods that are used. They directly oppose the values and ideas of both Anonymous and the founding fathers of this country, who believed in freedom of the press and expression.

The United States has often been used as an example of the ideal free country. When a nation that is known for its freedom and rights begins to abuse its own people, this is when you have to fight back, because soon others will come. Do not think that just because you are not a citizen of the United States, this does not apply to you. You can't wait for your country to decide to do the same. You must stop it before it grows, before it becomes acceptable. You must destroy its foundations before it becomes too powerful.

Hasn't the US government learned from the past? Haven't seen the revolutions of 2011? Have you not seen that we oppose this wherever we find it and that we will continue to oppose it? Obviously the US government believes itself exempt. This is not just a call from the Anonymous collective for action. What can a distributed Denial of Service attack do? What is a hacked website against the corrupt powers of the state? No. This is a call for a worldwide online and physical protest against the power that governs us. Spread this message everywhere. We will not stand still! Tell your parents, your neighbors, your co-workers, the teachers at your school, and whoever you have contact with. This affects anyone who wants the freedom to surf anonymously, speak freely without fear of punishment, or protest without fear of arrest.

Go into every IRC network, in every Social Network, in every online community, and tell them about the atrocity that is about to be committed. If the protest is not enough, the United States government will see that we truly are legion and that we will unite as one force in opposing this attempt to censor the Internet again, and in the process discourage other governments from continuing to do so or do so. try.

We are Anonymous.
We are legion.
We do not condone censorship.
We do not forget the denial of our individual freedoms, our right as human beings.
To the US government, you should have waited for us.

One thing is civil disobedience and quite another to protest by committing crimes.

To me the matter of closing Megaupload I am concerned because the rights of third parties were affected -people who paid in good faith for a premium service or those who hosted their own material- but the truth is that I would not put my hands in the fire for their owners ... and the same I say about places like Taringa.

Luckily there are people who are concerned about fighting the abuses of cybernetic totalitarianism in the making. The stakes are high, and it has nothing to do with piracy.

Well, look that something can be done, spread the news everywhere, comment to everyone who can so that they do it in turn with others, do not stop spreading the message, use the twitter hashtags if possible to position the topic at the top.

Gentlemen, it is time to act.

Personally, the closing of Megaupload seems very bad, a business that is assumed to be legal, where you charge money to provide a service.

But as always the interests of a few take precedence over those of the rest of mortals. $$$

Coincidence that the site closed after the first massive blackout? I do not believe it. The way I see it, they want to scare internet users with this. With their excuse of fighting piracy they try to silence us all. Megaupload did everything it could to remove this illegal material ...

But of course! It is more important to take care of the interests of large corporations that really cheat us their consumers, than to really look for thieves, rapists, drug traffickers ... Or take those ridiculously high incomes from politicians, not to mention touching the actors and their respective TV stations…

I don't even know what to think, in the end, we, the people, don't give a damn to all of them.

Before this happened, I published several posts. As they seemed alarmist and conspiratorial, they did not find an echo.

One of the most conspiratorial was the one I titled, "The SOPA law, the commander arrived and ordered a stop ..."

    Now are they alarmed? ...

This is tremendous that is happening and we must be alert and not let ourselves be overwhelmed by the excessive control of the governments spurred on by the large content distributors.

American leaders believe they have the power and freedom to act as world police. They boast of being the most liberal and democratic on the planet, when in reality it is the nation that created the most conflicts in all history. Conflicts always created by self-interest, dragging other nations with them to commit their misdeeds in the name of freedom and equality. Europe should be against the United States and its misdeeds, however on many occasions they support it and look the other way. The United States was created at the cost of inflicting great harm and pain on its rightful owners, murdering its settlers and stealing their land. Now in the 21st century they want to continue their misdeeds, and in this case, controlling the entire Internet. This control goes far beyond safeguarding the interests of copyright, this interest is to control every step that we take by monitoring our own privacy as it happens in countries ruled by tyrants. The United States is but the greatest example of that tyranny disguised as freedoms. It is already well to accept by force the repressive policies of this nation, my freedom is mine, and I decide with whom I want to share it, the Internet is and has always been a free platform, without owners, without censorship, without dictatorships. If we keep quiet we won't get anything, raise your voice, you are free, you are able to say no to these tyrants, if you keep quiet, the future of the Internet and your rights will be trampled on for a lifetime.
