The new version of Cinnarch 2'12.09.07 is now available to download, among its novelties is that Pantheon files is the default file manager of the distro, Cinnamon updated to version 1.5.7 and its installer is still netinstall but now it is improved in several aspects giving it greater comfort. Here is the Cinnarc team's post translated into Spanish:
This release comes after a month of no news. I was at a party.
Some changes were made ... some bigger than others.
So… biggest first!
Pantheon-files, from the elementaryOS project is now the default file manager. This means there is no Nautilus… but, for 32-bit users… there is a problem. Pantheon-files has a known bug that looks like this http://postimage.org/image/tfoqr9ckt/ (here the bug report in Launchpad -> https://bugs.launchpad.net/pantheon-files/+bug/)
Grub2 as the bootloader installation option only. In this way it is simplified
Other changes:
- Now only the language selected by the user will be generated
- Fixed missing gnome-keyring. This solves the network problems
- The pacman keyright is now populated on first boot after installation, so there should be no problem installing things.
- Cinnamon 1.5.7 fixes some bugs like tray icons not appearing.
Here I leave you with pleasure the official article of its launch and here its official page Cinnarch is available from their site at SourceForge
very good info friend xD, I saw this arch-based distro with cinnamon a long time ago, they also do a good job in integrating it well to the xD system
Yes, the bad thing is that now with pantheon files we no longer have a desktop with a folder view, otherwise I would have installed it already because it looks excellent
Mhhh I still prefer opensuse 😛
haha, if openSUSE is great 😀
same here !!!
Who would say that Andres Manuel was a linuxero and even more, he liked Open Suse JAJAJAJAJAJJAJAJAJA xD
Does anyone know what is the package of files in arch?
As soon as I understand what you mean, I'll answer you.
No screenshots? buuuhh <: '- (
No, but here yes since the moderator of this page helped me upload one http://www.espaciolinux.com/2012/09/cinnarch-2012-09-07/ I hope you serve
Thank you!
It seems to me that a hybrid future awaits me between the agility and tremendous usability of GNOME 3 / Cinnamon as an environment plus the KDE SC apps!
