I really liked this distribution when I tested it recently, it is fast and consumes a decent amount of resources. The only downside I see is that it is based on Debian stable and does not test 🙁

But it is much more up to date than Testing so I don't see what the problem is.

There is one based on Debian testing with Gnome 3.4

SolusOS 2, currently in development, is going for alpha 5, although it is already very stable, I use it without problems.

      All the best

I did not know that data, to see if I have a while and try it.

But isn't it based on Debian testing until the next version of Debian is released as stable? It was my understanding that from that moment on SolusOS was based on Debian stable.

Yes, it is, or at least that is what has been implied so far.

HAHAHA… will SolusOS become the new Ubuntu? ... I mean ... why the quarrel with SolusOS? It's a good distro, only that it has had too much prominence for the taste of some, no? 😀

The funny thing is that a distro made practically by a single person, without much money behind it, which takes up a desktop already discarded by many, has such a leading role.

3… 2… 1… Oh my God, this distro is wonderful, wonderful…! Haha. I am serious, I used it for a few months and it is the best you can find among the Debian-based distros, as long as you like classic gnome, of course. Very good work from Ikey, I hope Solus continues to grow.

I've been using it for a while now and a few days ago, when they started to release the updates for that version, it broke several packages, but two days ago or so I had another update and the problems were solved. For now, it works perfectly

  7.   sieg84 said

as I had read it would bring the kernel 3.3.8
or will it only be via repos?

    1.    sieg84 said

Haha I read wrong, yes it is 3.3.6.

    2.    Daniel Rojas said

I still have 3.3.6 after a dist-upgrade and in the repos it is the most recent there is

As soon as the stable 2-bit version 64 comes out, I head for it even if there is no water.

If I'm not mistaken, I think it would be out for the first of September. Does anyone know if it is so?

Gentlemen I think we are seeing the birth of a linuxmint, or maybe better but I love my beautiful Kubuntu, the best KDE distro despite whoever it may be.

I am using xubuntu on my desktop pc, on the laptop I have solusos 1.0 installed.
The distro is very good, but the times I try to install solusos 1.1 and now that I try to install version 1.2. I have the same problem with the gparted.
when the installer gets to the part of creating the partition table, gparted takes more than 15 minutes to find the existing partitions, it takes the same time when I create the new ones and have to format them. This happened to me with all the soluse 1.1 and 1.2 isos that I tried to install, so I downloaded the iso via torrent or through different mirrows, the same thing always happened to me. I did not see anyone who says the same and and I looked at the google the problem and I did not find anything, so I must be the only one who happens that, but I do not understand why it only happens to me with solusos and not with other distros.
Beyond that, it seems like a very good distro with a great future.

I have been using Fuduntu 2012.4 for several days on an Acer AOD255E netbook with 2GB RAM and the performance is very good, the only thing I do not like is that sometimes (for me as a newbie) it is difficult to use the menus or the terminal because it changes the commands To which I am used, the rest is very good distribution; I am going to download and install this distro because the comments I have read on various pages are very encouraging.
