As the title of this post says, the Beta 3 of this distro is now available for download, Mageia (version 2).
You can download the ISO to test it (both CD and DVD) from the download section of the site: Mageia2 Downloads
What's new? ... as it is obvious and we are accustomed to, they bring us new versions of the applications, for example:
- Linux kernel 3.3.1
- KDE 4.8.2
- LibreOffice 3.5.2
- Amarok 2.5
- Dragon Player 4.8.2
- Firefox 10.0.3 (here they are a bit slow ...)
If you use an Intel and also Ati, then I recommend you before downloading an ISO and trying it, read this: Intel + Ati Errata
As well as if you have problems with your Nvidia, read here: Nvidia Errata
In fact ... they can be aware of the errors that are being treated to solve them in the Mageia 2 error page.
Anyway, without a doubt this distro is working the way quite well and gaining followers, not only those who used (or use) Mandriva they look kindly on MageiaBut many others (including myself) are taking this distro VERY seriously.
regards
Do you have something special or is it just another one of the many distros with kde?
Ubuntuous detected
Courage .. behave fuck ..
He has earned it. What he has done is a direct attack on Mageia without any argumentation.
We all know that ubuntoos hate all but one distros, but there are some, like this one, who have a special hate for Mandriva / Mageia.
@Courage ¬.¬ 'there is no greater ubunctual than your bro ... ¬.¬'
Come on that you help carcamal
that leaves in Mandriva Linux
almost there!
After Chakra is the distro that I like the most, they still lack some agility when it comes to updating certain programs, but with kde it has given me a good performance. I hope they continue to evolve because without a doubt it is a very interesting distro.
It's really good, I've never tried it so I'll wait for the final version to see how it works.
I never tried Mageia, one of the few that I have left to try ...
But I don't know, I'm getting squashed, it no longer calls me to be testing distros left and right as before.
I'm getting old 🙁
hehehe, what does the Pardus logo look cool in the comment? … LOL!!
But didn't you say it was the closest thing to Windows? xd
Error, you are already a grump.
Ah, but Mageia is no longer that despicable rehash for you to deign to use it?
I have not tried this one, I was running Mandriva 2011 64 bit and since I could not install Skype I switched to Rosa 2012 Beta 64 bit and although the graphical interface is much more beautiful, I could not install Skype either, I think because it is only for 32 bit and It asks me for some files that I could not download; It will be that by installing Mageia I can finally have Skype, it is the only thing I am missing and I don't want to go back to Kubuntu 12.04, which had everything working there because I like Rosa's design better; any suggestion or a program that you can install and that interacts with those who have Skype installed on their computer as Pidgin does with those of MSN and Yahoo ... Thanks in advance.
