Best Linuxero Desktop: November 2013 - Results

Time is up to participate in our competition of the month. It was really very difficult to decide because they have sent us excellent screenshots of their desktops.

However, after a long time, I was finally able to choose what for me are the 10 best desks. There is a very interesting variety of distros, environments, icons, etc. To learn, imitate and enjoy! Will yours be on the list?

The 1 and 7 were the ones I liked the most 🙂

        The 7 is mine 😀!

I have Manjaro and I was wrong with yours. Although Cairo-dock the times I tried it I liked Docky more (I found Cairo heavy), the rest tempted me badly. I'm already downloading the link you left, let's see how it looks.

      Next time will be. 🙂

photo number 6 .___. is that ratpoison? mother of god !!!

    1.    eliotime3000 said

Yes, it looks like RatPoison. I still can't get used to that tetraconsole interface.

  4.   rafarellano said

Terminator man divided into 4 is considered desk…?

  5.   Furyvento said

What a beauty that number 6 XD

    1.    eliotime3000 said

I also admire that RatPoison style desk. If I could at least scroll in those windows I would use it on my konsole.

    2.    let's use linux said

It's good, right? I put it because otherwise they all seem more or less the same ... that is VERY different.

      1.    Carlos Avila said

Hahaha thanks for putting my desk, I never had the idea that it turned out to be here, I come to see what is new on the page and I see that there is a new publication of the best desks I click and start to see them, great surprise when I see mine, my Terminator, which I uploaded more for desktop as a capture for the same reason you mention, they are all more of the same and none different.
        Greetings and thanks.

        1.    let's use linux said

          Great! Hug! Paul.

  6.   pandev92 said

Francisco Javier Guzmán should do a tutorial on how to leave the desk like this ** !!

    1.    Francisco Javier said

Of course, if I hope that in December I will make a video of how I will configure my desktop, conky, covergloobus and docky

      regards

  8.   cooper15 said

Man, you already had me restless waiting XD. And the first time mine is left, what a joy hehe 🙂.
The truth is a very, very good selection. The 9 despite being overloaded, I see it very well distributed, I loved it.

    1.    let's use linux said

      Cheers!

  9.   O_Pixote_O said

I hallucinate with the desks that you nail, I do not even do that with training xD

  10.   medina07 said

The truth is that they cannot be appreciated 100%, a link to the original image would be recommended because when adapting them to the XPS template, details are lost.

  11.   [Ame] said

Does everyone have the same laptop ???

    1.    let's use linux said

      Haha!

  12.   alex said

What is the name of the widget that shows the time with the speed of the processor among other things of the number 7?

    1.    O_Pixote_O said

It is not a widget, it is conky, below it puts a link with the download of the instructions on how to install it

I would have nominated the KZKG ^ Gaara desk: https://blog.desdelinux.net/como-personalizar-o-cambiar-los-iconos-de-plank/

First time you have a desk that doesn't suck and nobody recognizes it. xD

    1.    elav said

Noooooo, do not encourage him please .. do not increase his ego that then believes it 😀

      1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

        HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!

Manuel, thanks for your words hehe, I am very proud of my desktop 😀
        Elav, screw you! Haha

There on the forum I saw some supercharged captures of yours xD what was the point of that Gaara?

          1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

Ah that was a long time ago, today I have my desktop extremely clean - » http://ftp.desdelinux.net/kzkggaara/kzkggaara-screenshot.png

            Ale… Advertising HP… what a shame!
            Hug! Paul.

    2.    patodx said

I vote for the 4 and 5, however I was struck by the KZKG ^ Gaara desk, how simple and clean, but mainly the HP logo, I suppose it will be because you have Arch in an HP note, if so, would you be so kind to tell me what machine model it is… ????

  14.   VaryHeavy said

All my respects, but the captures look very small and you cannot see the details of each capture in depth.

    1.    cookie said

      True.

    2.    eliotime3000 said

      True Story.

    3.    let's use linux said

OKAY. I'll keep it in mind for the next one. I did it like this so that the page does not take so long to load, but next month I will include a link to the original (it is not that simple being facebook and google + but I will do my best).
      Greetings, Pablo.

  15.   eliotime3000 said

And by the way, the desks that are in this sectionWill they be present in this section?

    1.    let's use linux said

Yes, yes ... I had thought about that ... it is that it is not so easy to look at and catalog so many captures, from different sources .... but I'll keep it in mind. 🙂

  16.   JLV said

    Hey hey !!

It smells like a trap here hehehehehe

They copied my desktop from October! xD

It was so good that without participating I was in 10th place xD

    Congratulations to all!

Well I think there is none with a Kde environment ... Very good ... without a doubt creativity is a very important quality ...

    1.    Staff said

      One slipped in, the 9.
But yes, there are many people who, contrary to what you might think, use the most customizable and modular desktop with the default settings.

  18.   DanielC said

What a difference when the judge does not exclusively put KDEs excluding the opportunity to show that other desktops can also be quite customized. xD

    1.    eliotime3000 said

Well, KDE is really customizable, plus many times, you have a plethora of options served on a silver platter and many times you don't know what to do.

  19.   biker said

they should put the links to their conky settings, wallpapers, themes and more! (:

  20.   Dr Byte said

Very good selection, and the winner has obviously known how to respect, so to speak, the linux philosophy, by not trying to emulate another OS. I respect those who want to make their computers the closest thing to a Mac, but I prefer what Linux offers and in this case with the creativity shown by those who care about continuing to make distros something truly FREE.
