YouTube It is a topic that we have covered a lot here on our site, as well as we have talked about youtube-dl, an application that allows us to download a video from YouTube through a command.
Well now I will tell you about another application, slope
CC Live
This is an application that allows us basically the same as others, download a video that is on YouTube to our computer by means of a simple command.
How to install CCLive
Installing it is simple, look in your repository for the package of the same name (cclive) and install it, for example in ArchLinux it would be:
sudo pacman -S cclive
In Debian, Ubuntu and derivatives I imagine it is:
sudo apt-get install cclive
How to use CCLive
Once installed, they run it followed by the URL of the video they want to download, for example:
cclive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWVrolNQ4RU
Also, it supports several URLs ... that is, they can do this:
cclive URL1 URL2 URL3 URL4
Come on, download one video after another, in the same way you can have a plain text file with all the URLs (in different lines of course) and import them in this way:
cclive < urls.txt
This will download all the URLs that have been specified in the urls.txt file
CCLive is an improved version of CLive, programmed by the same authors where the big difference is that CLive is programmed in C, while CCLive is programmed in C ++
By default it saves the videos in webm, however you can specify another format if that is what you want.
I recommend that you read the manual of this application for more details:
man cclive
Well nothing more to add. There are those (like me) who like to download interesting videos from YouTube to be able to watch them offline later, one of my pending tasks is to see how to download videos from Vimeo ... in fact, I would also like to have a subscription to Netflix, or otherwise use an application that allows you to watch videos of Netflix free.
I hope this has been of interest to you.
PD: ... I'm already looking for it, Vimeo sees it 😀
Comrade, Youtube-dl download videos from Vimeo.
With the command:
youtube-dl --extractor-descriptions
You can see which sites are supported (they are a lot) and vimeo appears in the list. Although I only use it for YouTube, it is a good tool.
You are missing a script 🙂
youtube-dl –-extractor-descriptions
It's true, with youtube-dl -a file.txt, the problem is over.
I've been using cclive for months, but this happens to me with some videos that are in HD or are from VEVO on YouTube
slope https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS1g8G_njx8
Checking… …… ……… .libquvi: error: server response code 403 (conncode = 0)
🙁
Does that happen to someone else?
The same thing happens to me with manjaro xfce 0.8.9. Vevo videos give me error. In the others without problem. Is there any solution?. Thank you.
No idea!!!!
🙁 I spend in Manjaro, Arch and now in mint, it must be because of the resolution, I have no idea, as much as I search for information I could not solve it, I hoped someone had the solution: /
If I know of something, I will let you know, greetings.
using youtube-dl does not give the message «server response code 403»
regards
And why don't you use Youtube-dl?
watch free pay channels from android splive tv download it and then they can add a list of pay channels the lists are easy to find online.
RealPlayer Cloud has developed a new tool to download videos easily and quickly. This new tool is available with more formats and improves internet performance

The video download did not work for me, I got an error:
"Libquvi: error server response code 403 (conncode = 0)"
What is this error due to?
Thank you
Test with youtube-dl is much more powerful and is in constant development.
where the videos you downloaded are saved, they don't appear !!!
