Within a month, specifically from the 4 9 October to 2021 the event known as Open Source Software Contributors Summit (CCOSS).
La Open Source Software Contributors Summit (CCOSS) is an initiative of Open Source Mexico (OSOM). THE SOUND is a group of enthusiasts of the Open Source from Mexico who work in different companies and universities in favor of the use of Open Source software.
And since, in this post we will comment a bit about the Code of conduct of said event, we immediately leave the link on said topic addressed in one of our previous publications, for those interested after finishing this publication:
"A Code of Conduct for Open Source projects can be a clear and precise way to express and integrate up-to-date social and moral norms and / or values within our extensive and globalized Free Software and Open Source development communities. The incorporation of a Code of Conduct serves many things, for example, solving the possible lack of diversity that may arise, due to a null or low representation or participation of women, people of color and other marginalized populations." What is the CCOSS (Open Source Software Contributors Summit)?
According to his Official website, saying online event:
"Its main purpose is to increase the number of people and organizations in Latin America that contribute to open source projects. And participation in it is open to anyone interested in contributing to open source projects. In addition, it allows different ways of contributing to a project that do not involve programming. For example, help in different phases of design, documentation, review, coordination, dissemination."
In addition, their organizers highlight the following:
"It is very important to us that all participants feel comfortable and safe. The code of conduct available here!. and all CCOSS participants, speakers, and sponsors should follow. If before or after the event you consider that someone is violating it or is simply bothering you, please do not hesitate to contact anyone from the organizing team.

What does the event of this year 2021 bring us?
So far the event has the following scheduled:
- More than 1500 participants.
- 6 days of activities.
- More than 30 talks and workshops.
- 49 hour sprint contribution.
In addition, this second edition of Open Source Software Contributors Summit continues with the objective of guiding on how and why to contribute to Open Source projects. And for them their talks and workshops are as follows:
- Talks (25 minutes): Talks focused on sharing experiences and recommendations to create or contribute to Open Source projects. Examples of topics to address: how to make it economically sustainable, how to choose the right license, interaction with the community, general recommendations to contribute.
- Contribution workshop (3 hours): The objective of the workshops is to initiate the participants so that they can contribute to a specific project. It will show how to access the code and documentation repositories, the procedure to make changes, the revision procedure, among others.
In short, "CCOSS 2021" this year brings us a great second edition, which will surely yield many fruits in favor of the Global Free Software and Open Source Community.
