One of the novelties that have caught my attention in the new version of KMail (corresponding to KDE 4.11) are the custom headers for email messages.
Now we can give our messages a more beautiful style, as we can see below:
Installation and configuration
For now there are not many themes on the net that we can download, but if you want any of the previous two, you just have to click on:
Once we download both files, we unzip them and copy the folders in
/usr/share/kde4/apps/messageviewer/themes
or in my case (Arch Linux):
/usr/share/apps/messageviewer/themes
Now we just have to go to KMail »View» Headers and choose the one we like the most.
Excellent contribution, Kmail is an excellent email client, configurable and 100% customizable.
I'm still using Thunderbird, I had KMail for a few weeks on my laptop, but I hadn't used it since 3.5.x versions. And since now kdepim depends on akonadi + nepomuk and I don't use those features, and to finish off, in Fedora I have to install blogilo + kalarm + sabradiosquemas, because I keep going from KMail. Although I do not stop recognizing that if we want to make the most of our desktop, Kmail is the best option.
[troll] PS: Dear and never forgotten bald ??? Muaaaaaaaaajajajajaja. [/ Troll]
The first one already struck xDDD
Yes, but will there be a version for Thunderbird | Icedove of those header templates?
And I'm opting for Icedove ESR with my brand new OpenPublicMail email.
In addition, the Icedove ESR already has the Australis theme, so it has been perfect.
PS: I will not talk about the appearance of the admin, as it would create an unnecessary flame.
If you don't use Nepomuk and still want KDE-PIM, you can enable indexing (in KdeSettings) only for mail and contacts. Nepomuk was a drag up to and including 4.9, in version 4.10 it became tolerable and now it no longer bothers.
But if Nepomuk in KDE 4.11 doesn't even feel like it .. 😀
Although you can also create a template that includes a very personalized header to your liking in any other email client. Especially if it is about creating a template for work or in the case of "Let's use Linux Desde LInux» a nice and sober blue template.
Oh nooo? AND…. What do you think?
I still haven't got the update from kde 11 to Kubuntu 13.04, does anyone know how to update it?
