Classic Theme Restorer: Returning to the classic Firefox interface

As many know, Mozilla Firefox in its next versions it will release a new interface that they have called Australis. Some adore it (like me), others hate it, and it is especially for the latter group that this article is dedicated.

The idea is to move on from this:

Firefox Australis

to this:

Classic Firefox interface

And all thanks to a simple extension called Classic Theme Restorer, which once installed gives us a lot of options to customize the appearance of Australis. The extension itself does not replace the new interface, but rather adds new options, including choosing between various styles in the tabs. These are the 5 styles available:

Firefox Australis Styles

There are many more options for this extension, to customize every detail of our interface. For example, we can change the size of the buttons on the toolbar, or enable the option to move them around. We can also change the colors of the tabs.

The old menu that we found in previous versions of the classic Firefox interface comes back to us 🙂

Classic Firefox Menu

The extension has a lot of options, so it is up to everyone to choose which ones to activate or not. For my part, I stay with Asutralis as it is, because I love it that way.

Although it is their list of entries they have a pending / draft post titled "Look at Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr" by "danintendolinux" it may be close to being published.

I like that style better, but what I don't know is how to change the KDE Oxygen icons to the eOS ones (only the KDE Oxygen icons, not from applications like Firefox).

And I managed to advance a bit from my KDE hybrid which is a mixing eOS with OpenSUSE in the forum.

Well, I want the Australis interface of Firefox to come out as soon as possible to test it (well, as soon as Firefox 29 and Iceweasel 29 come out, I will put the screenshot of Iceweasel with Australis and my KDE desktop that is a hybrid between OpenSUSE and eOS (It is more OpenSUSE style with eOS soul despite being Debian).

The 2 photos you put, are you sure it's not the same photo? Because I see it the same ...: -O

Okay, I hadn't seen that tiny difference, is it just that, doesn't it differ in anything else? Because if it's just that, I don't understand why there is so much "concern" about the interface change, if you don't get to tell me where look, I would have sworn it's the same photo ...

Very good, I really don't know what the obsession to save vertical space is. I don't see the point in having eliminated the add-on bar that many of us use.

The new trend is minimalist interfaces with touch-type icon menus. The rounded edges of the tabs load me and remind me of a tablet menu.

Joer, I must see less than a plaster cat, because I do not see any difference except the one indicated by elav, and because he told me, otherwise….

If you hate australis so much ... then install the theme "Foxcape" and go back to the origins! xD

    Hola!

I disagree with those who hate the new interface, I really loved it, but as always there is a but, what I am noticing is that the use of RAM has increased considerably - With only 3 tabs open it is using 500 MBs) although this problem It comes from the last version (28), I hope that in the final version this problem will be solved.

PS: I am using Mozilla Firefox Ver. 29 Beta 9

    Greetings!

Meh, I'm using Iceweasel 28 and the truth is that this resource consumption shot only happens when I browse Facebook.
