Create your own custom Debian DVD

Well, as the title indicates, I bring you a Script that allows the creation of a custom DVD of Debian. The credits of its creation are for Mark Russo, founding member of Centrux project, of which I am a member and collaborator.

It was created by the need we had to generate installable images of the already modified system in a short time and in an automated way. It should be noted that it is constantly changing and this is a first functional version of it. It could be said that it is in beta stage.

Some of the advantages offered by the Script are:

• Personalization of the upper Banner present in the Graphic Installation
• Customizing the DVD Boot Splash Image
• Incorporation of non-free firmwares for hardware
• System Architecture Selection
• System branch selection
• User / password customization

It also allows many system parameters to be modified. All this is found in the Script configuration files, always accompanied by their respective comments to clarify what they modify.

It should be noted that the ideal way to generate images in the shortest possible time is to have a mirror on local servers Debian, thus avoiding having to download the packages for each compilation. In our case we have it on a server and in a matter of minutes we have the image ready to burn on a DVD and install.
