Create your own custom Debian iso

Debian Live Build is a website where we can create our own iso of Debian (Squeeze, Wheezy or Sid) to measure, and in a few steps we can even define that Desktop Environment we want to use.

If we have knowledge, a little more advanced we can define other options and installation methods for our iso. Once the compilation is finished, it sends you the URL address to download it to the email. I'm waiting for my confirmation to arrive, and I will be able to download an .iso with debian-sid + Xfce 😛

What do you think?

Thanks for the info, I requested Sid with Gnome. Good idea from the Debian team.

All distros should have such a site. I asked for Debian Testing with LXDE. 🙂

Good idea, although I still think that making it yourself (KISS) is more configurable no matter how much the elav carca is up to my noses and the KISS

HAHAHAHAHA, that fanaticism of yours, I wonder, won't you be KISS too?

      1.    Courage said

I am directly unconfigurable, very few people can configure me

Well elav, I am writing this comment of my Live DVD Debian Sid with Gnome3 3.2.1 with four applications open it consumes me 339 MB of Ram, it is very fast.

Great data, I already asked for Debian Testing with XFCE

    Elav input is appreciated.
I only have one doubt, all the sections are clear to me
    minus the cgipackages.list.chroot section.
I have searched the Internet but it is not clear what I should include
    in advance, thank you.

If I tell you I lie to you the truth. I left almost everything by default, but it would be nice to find out what that option is.

Apparently (from what I can see in the code) it's a third-party unofficial package listing.

For now, the only thing I can think of is that in this section you must enter the * .deb packages that we want to be installed. But do not pay much attention to me, rather it is an assumption until we clear this small doubt. At the moment I put it like this, we will see the result hahaha ... mystery, although it is rather a test.

It sounds very interesting, I have to check it, I don't know if you have tried Suse Studio, it seems a bit more complete, greetings.

The resource works very well. I already have my Live-Cd with xfce in debian testing. A good alternative that should be listed on the official site (debian.org).

If any of you have password problems (yes, the debian live cd comes with password o_O), they are: user - live (normal user), live - live (root). That way they don't kill themselves searching the web. Bye.

I have requested 2 iso and I do not understand how to download them, the link appears ... and only one species of logs appear on the page ... but nothing

      Could you help me?

        Hello and welcome 😀
You could take a screenshot and leave us the image here (or link to it), so we can see what appears to you 🙂

        regards

        1.    walter said

this is what appears to me ... and none of the links are from downloads ... they are just logs of the compilation process (I think)

And there are no instructions in the content of those files?

          2.    walter said

            nope--
they are just like the logs after creating the image ...
            no instructions inside

    how great.
I don't know much about gnu / linux. So it is that in the extra options of the page like I miss a bit. hehehehe
so far I feel comfortable installing to the minimum with a net installl and then
apply an aptitude install xorg-xserver-video-intel gdm3 and then an occasional internet and multimedia application 😛

Please, very interesting but put a tutorial in Spanish for those of us who do not know much about the subject but we are in the fantastic world of free software, for example I apollo 10000% to the LX environment PORSER LIGHT I LIKE IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND WITH VERY FEW RESOURCES all desktop environments should work with the scent of the processor and RAN memory
