Debian 9.6 Stretch arrives with hundreds of updates

Debian 9.6

The Debian project has announced the general availability of the XNUMXth maintenance update of the latest version of your operating system, Debian 9 Stretch.

Debian 9.6 Stretch comes to us four months after the fifth update and brings with it more than 270 changes in different packages.

“This maintenance update adds fixes for security issues along with some adjustments for larger issues. Please note that this update is not a new version of Debian 9, it only adds changes to the packages already included in the initial release. " Mentions Laura Arjona Reina, developer of the Debian project.

Debian 9.6 Stretch is now available for download

The Debian project has prepared the installation and usage images for Debian 9.6 Stretch and right now you can download them from this link in its different versions with Xfce, Cinnamon, GNOME, KDE, MATE, and LXDE.

If you already have Debian 9 Stretch running on your computer, all you have to do is run the command "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get full-upgrade" in the terminal of your choice. It is recommended that all Debian 9 users update their systems as soon as possible.

Currently, with so much change in fundamental parts of the system, in the graphics with wayland, gnome that comes and goes (two steps forward, one back), sistemd, etc ..., it is always good to have a refuge distro where everything works as it should and you can work quietly as a work station.
    Thanks DEBIAN.

It is the only distro that I have always wanted to try, however I have never been able to even install it, the other distros are simple to install, compared to this one ... right now try to download its new version ... and it gives more options than a ABC and does not lead directly to download like the other distros …….

It is the first time that I write here. With regard to Milton, the installation of Debian is as simple as a normal Ubuntu. What happens is that on the official site there are several means to download. The only one you need is the first DVD, the others are optional and you can download the missing packages directly from the installer online.

      - From here you can download the live dvd for XFCE Desktop

      - Here for Live de MATE

      - And in case you want the complete installer (DVD1) I'll leave it here. *

Any of these images have proprietary firmware included
some manufacturers of ethernet and wifi cards, as well as chipset and some video and sound. (The common version of Debian comes without these sometimes giving compatibility problems on certain machines)
Hope you can install the distro with the information provided in this comment.

      Greetings.
