Debian GNU / Linux 9.5 "Stretch" ready with 100 security updates

Debian 10

Debian 9.5 "Stretch" is available already with important updates that affect the security of this GNU / Linux distribution. Specifically, there have been 100 updates or patches that have been included in Debian 9.5 regarding the security of the operating system with respect to previous releases. This has been officially announced by the Debian Project, making available to us the fifth maintenance update of this Debian series with Linux kernel that we can enjoy in a stable way.

Remember the debian project goes beyond Linux and that not only do they have distros available with Linux kernels, but you can also find others with GNU / Hurd, kFreeBSD, etc. By this I do not mean to stop using GNU / Linux, but it is also not bad to try something new from time to time ... I personally like FreeBSD and that is why I have tried Debian with this kernel, but I honestly prefer Linux for most of the cases.

Going back to this release, Debian 9.5, not only includes those 100 security updates that we have cited, there are also many more improvements. For example, you will also find 91 bug fixes, or rather, those bugs that were found in previous versions will no longer be in 9.5. These bugs affected numerous applications and main components of the distro, so this improvement is appreciated.

As its own developers have stated, this release improves security and eliminates some serious problems that existed. Therefore, if you decide to download Debian 9.5 you can do it from now from the official site of the project, where you will find the installation images ISO, Netinstall, etc., as well as with numerous desktop environments LXDE, Xfce, MATE, Cinnamon, GNOME, KDE Plasma 5 ... Remember that you can enjoy it from different architectures AMD64, ARM64, ARMhf (32- bit), Armel, MIPS, MIPS64, PPC64, s390, etc.
