Debian Sources List Generator

Hi, I don't know if you knew it, but for Debian newbies, I think this tip will be useful ...

Looking for repositories for a Debian Sid that I am testing, I came across this page, which I found interesting, it is about «Debian Sources List Generator«There, in addition to the usual repositories, you can choose others (both free and private)

Here is a screenshot of how it looks:

Curious, right now I was testing Debian Sid too, I'll see how that page works 😉

do not forget that if you are under Sid you do not have to put the Security repos.
And to the Admin thanks for the corrections, it is my first post and much I still do not clarify 😉

very good info I used it for a long time to put the testing repo to debian 6 but due to the large number of packages that were updated it ended up damaging the system and I had to reinstall everything again so in my opnion opensuse is better to put the Tumbleweed branch which is much easier to have the system as a rolling xD

It seems that there are problems with the link, I get this: The server was not found
Firefox could not find the server in debgen.simplylinux.ch.

    Interesting.
Besides, you have to be brave to try the Sid branch, I never dared 🙁

That is a very good option. I always update from Stable to Testing and the truth is that it didn't give me any problem, it is a tool that I use almost always when installing Debian or Debian Testing.

I take advantage of the fact that Argentina does not appear on the web to ask which one to choose instead. Whenever I install, any distro, I go through France I don't really know why xD. What do you think? You have to choose the closest one or does it not influence?

I am currently on Debian Wheezy Xfce and am surprised that the repositories are "few" compared to Squeeze

As a sid user, this debgen is very good for new ones and for those of us who are in a hurry hehe that if going from testing to sid they have to take into account something, there is a huge amount of packages to download, and another sid can be stable hehe in I personally prefer more sid than testing.
