Oriented to developers, Dell has launched a whole line of notebooks powered by the Ubuntu operating system, with a slim design and the latest technology on the market.
Dell's new “developer edition” line consists of the Dell Precision 3530, Dell Precision 5530, Dell Precision 7530, Dell Precision 7730, the latter being the star of the family.
Features of the Dell Precision 3530 Developer Edition
The first laptop in this line, the Dell Precision 3530, is now available with a 15.6-inch screen, 8th generation Intel processor or next generation Xeon processor, up to 32 GB of RAM at 2666 MHz, up to 2 TB of PCIe storage, 600 GB Nvidia Quadro P4 graphics card, HDMI 2.0 that supports 4K video output at 60FPS and Thunderbolt port.
In the coming weeks the Dell Precision 5530 will be available that has a 15.6-inch screen inside a 14-inch chassis, 8th generation Intel processor or next generation Xeon processor, up to 32GB of 2666MHz RAM, up to 4GB of storage , Next-generation Nvidia Quadro P2000, USB-C, HDMI and Thunderbolt inputs.
The Dell Precision 7530 comes with the same display and processor as the previous ones, but can be added up to 128 GB of 3200 MHz RAM, up to 6 TB of storage, an AMD Radeon WX or Nvidia Quadro card, as well as having a Thunderbolt 3 port.
The most advanced model in this family, the Dell Precision 7730, has similar features to the 7530 except for the 17-inch screen and the capacity of up to 8 TB of storage.
All models hit the market with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) and are certified by Red Hat for its latest Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.5 operating system including drivers for video from the start.
Dell also mentioned that all models in this family will hit stores globally priced at $ 945 for the base configurations of the initial model.
