Since Linux celebrates its first year :)

With great pride and pleasure we announce that on a day like today our domain saw the light for the first time desdelinux.net, for the approval of its creators (KZKG ^ Gaara and me).

Many things have happened, but I will not tell you, but all of us who today are part of the group of Administrators of this blog. Each one of us will leave reflected in this post a piece of our thoughts towards FromLinux...

elav:

For sure I do not remember how we agreed on the idea of creating this project that today we call FromLinux. I only remember that one day we were looking for names to register a domain and somehow unite our old blogs in WordPress. What I can tell you is that we have been here for a year, among you, enjoying this day with great pleasure because through this blog, we have met great people, who even without seeing their faces, without hearing their voices, today are part from our circle of friends.

Between successes (even mistakes) SinceLinux has been growing and every day more users are joining our Community. To the new: Welcome. To those who have been with us for some time: Thanks for being here. Mention all those who in one way or another have helped us, I think it would be impossible, some are even gone for one reason or another, but if I want to especially thank two people who have been maintaining and helping with the administration of the blog and most of the services we offer: Nano y perseus.

Today I can say that both are considered "founders" of this space due to the amount of time and effort they have dedicated to helping us when we have not been able to be here. But they are not the only ones who have offered a helping hand: my brother Esteban (without him we wouldn't be here today), Tina Toledo, son_link, algabe, conandoel, proper, AuroZX, Rayonant, spanishbizarro, elendilnarsil, keopety, the compa Yoyo, Jamin Samuel, Annubis, Ferreryguardia, and many others who right now escape my memory, have been people who have remained with us or at some point were key with their help and many members who are part of our Community.

Today we celebrate our first year and it is a reason to celebrate, because thanks to you we are here, and if you wish, we will continue to offer what we have given you with so much affection until now.

Elder brother:

I did not found the site, in fact, I came here by mere chance looking for articles on LMDE (in his moments of glory) and I read the e-book of elav about LMDE. He was pretty new to the world of Linux and I was reviewing options and learning new things and I did not know any Linux blog as such, I just read the articles to see what I got.

Then, out of sheer curiosity, I started poking around the blog, and reading the famous "with the terminal", but I realized that something was missing from the blog, something was missing, I don't know what it was but I thought I could give it something else , to contribute a little of that something that was missing in my opinion; I realized that the something was a bit of opinion articles, and with that I started, I made an article in the forum, the couple of Cubans loved it, it came to the blog and from that moment I began to write what was happening to me by the head or to comment on things that happened.

After a while and without realizing it I had gone from being just a collaborator to being someone to whom they showed ideas, they asked him what he thought, they invited me to IRC to talk about what could be done to improve the community, I have to admit that I never looked for a "position of power" in DesdeLinux, I simply loved the idea of the concept that was being developed (and is still being developed), of creating a Spanish-speaking community around free and open source software and after a certain time I I realized that I not only wanted to write but also to develop for the project, which has led me to design ideas for the development of systems made for FromLinux and further expand what is offered.

In the future I do not know what will continue to happen or how far we will go, nor do I care about worrying about the future because I am one of those who thinks that it is better to build it today, than to dream it and wait for it to arrive.

Anything else to say? In fact yes, beyond the typical thank you, which is implicit in everything we write, is that what you see today is only the beginning, <° Linux it will grow, a lot.

KZKG ^ Gaara:

And well ... I I will do a little history, and I will tell how all this was born 

As you already said elav... it seems that it was yesterday when in one of our many casual talks about Linux, what was missing from the network communities, the typical: «such a site is good, but does not have a good rapport between administrators and editors and readers«, Etc etc ... it seems that it was yesterday when all this was born. I still remember that day perfectlywhich was not exactly the 4th of July hahaha, it was a few days before) when we talk about if we had a site, what would we do with it, what would distinguish it from the rest, what would we do better than the rest (Well, we had an opinion about what the rest lacked), etc. That day, we specified several of the lines that we follow today, let's say that that day we planted the foundations ... we were talking here in the office (node) looking at various sites (ok I'll be honest, criticizing various sites haha), but, we didn't have the option to just create our own.

Back then I was a regular editor of Artdesktop.com, I started to venture into the world of online business, domains, etc. The AE.com administrators are great girls, we told them the idea that they would buy a domain for us (elav and I), and we would pay them the money without any problem, and so the opportunity that We had waited for so long, at last someone offered us his helping hand !!

That day, we obviously started thinking about possible domains to buy (praying that someone else hadn't already bought it haha), I came up with the idea of «we will make the site 100% with Linux, so with linux it is not a bad domain", but elav he thought it wasn't good enough, that it was missing "something", and there came the brilliant idea of "desdelinux» As a domain, we had this conversation in a cafeteria near work where we went to get something to eat 

We bought the domain on a day like today, July 4, but last year 2011. In addition to the help of the girls from Artescritorio.com (that they are not badly thought, yes we pay the money with work haha) we have the help of a friend of ours (also Cuban) who studied with elav. Comment here often with the nickname of 3ndriago. His name is Esteban, and thanks to him we are online, because he is the one who made the purchase of our first hosting, if he had not offered himself and helped us by paying our first (and also our 2nd) hosting, all this would not exist.

Then imagine… we always wanted to have our own site, when we finally had it, needless to say, we did not? ... we wrote so much, we put (eh !! and we still put! Haha) so much effort to the site, design, comfort, that it began to be moderately popular in not long time.

Also, due to restrictions that exist here with the Internet (which is not the place to explain them haha), having our own domain + hosting would help us a lot to 'escape' from those restrictions 

And here the story ends HA HA HA.

Anyway, we have come very VERY far (here the data, statistics, etc.), as much as we were not able to imagine even in our wildest dreams… but, the human being is an ambitious creature  … if we manage to get here, to be in your browsers… believe me, we will go for more HAHA, we are not satisfied anymore, we really want to make a difference in the Linux world that exists on the net, … no, no wishBut we will do it!

We have many that we want to thank, many are there, many no longer, but they are still part of DesdeLinux, of what it has been, of what it is, and they have been the basis on which we continue to develop and improve all this that they see. I have always characterized myself as being a detail-oriented person (even if some other girl says no hahaha), and that is precisely why I remember those who are not there more than those who are. Eduar2, Courage, Erithrym, Cristhian Duran, ErunamoJAZZ, gespadas, Giskard, hipersayan_x, hiram, Jesus Ballesteros, Luweeds, Marco, mcder3, mitcoes, moscosov, Thunder, TiTan, Trece, Vladimir_vpabogados, Yoyo … So many that I hope you continue to read us, these are added to those that not long ago, we managed to occupy a place in your browser.

Here, between comments ... debates, articles, we have made excellent relationships with many, the ones that deserve the most applause are perseus y Nano, these two friends have managed to make a deep impression on this entire project, truly many thanks to these two and to all the others who, without mentioning them, you can know who they are, just by reading the comments that we all exchange every day 

Well… we really want to be not just a Linux site, but not be seen as superior beings… something like the site administrators, with whom you can't talk normally, much less, we are all colleagues… we have similar tastes, and none… none of us have airs of superiority 

regards

Well, this has been. We only have the opinion of our friend perseus, but apparently, due to personal problems, he cannot be with us today.

By the way, today is your birthday andres_auros, CONGRATULATIONS friend!!!  Have a good time, don't forget to save us a piece of cake... LOL!! 
