DesdeLinux in the PPT (Technological Promotion Project)

Well when I say DesdeLinux I mean in this case KZKG ^ Gaara and me, but the important thing is that we were there and we told them that everything is going.

PPT (Technological Promotion Project) is a project that consists of a series of events organized by the Cuban University of Computer Sciences (UCI), where the objective is to promote and share applications (some not free), knowledge, etc.

The boys from humans (UCI Free Software Community) and of course, the members of The Firefox Community in Cuba, with whom we share a while and exchange applications for FirefoxOS.

There were visitors from other countries such as Italy interested in Firefox OS, students from other universities, UCI graduates who work closely, and the general public, who were largely interested in Mozilla products.

This initiative is very interesting because any type of person, regardless of their profession, can approach and learn more about Free software, Mozilla, Firefox OS and as you can see in the photos, you can already see some of the available phones.

More photos of the Event in the post of Firefoxmania.

Surely the visit was very interesting and more talk with members of the Mozilla Community of Cuba. We were lucky to also share knowledge and experiences with some of them such as Yunier or Erick in Lima, whom I see with Elav in the photo.

Yes, we have known Erick and the rest for a few years, in fact moments before taking that photo I remember that we were talking about you 😀

Interesting ... Apparently, those from Mozilla Peru are literally in communication with the rest of the Mozilla communities.

A disgrace not to have enough money to visit them and be able to interview them (and by the way, see how the internet really works in Cuba).

    Very good!
It seems good to me that these types of events are held. I had the opportunity to attend a regional free software conference and a FLISOL, and there are interesting things.

Could you tell us who is who of you? I guess the one with the fuchsia bag is Elav and the one next to the blue T-shirt KZKG ^ Gaara.

Well, I don't know what the fuchsia color is but ... the one with the pink / red bag yes, it's elav, and that's right, I'm the one with the blue pullover 🙂 ... now that you look at it, it's not one of my best photos HAHA

To update the images in the "Who we are" section, it was said.

Now, jokes aside, I would have liked them to upload the videos of that event through torrent (understanding how irregular the bandwidth distribution is in Celia Cruz's land), and thus be able to upload it to Vimeo.

After all, an Iceweasel update had arrived yesterday, which was a bug fix as soon as I was reading this article.

Che, the Argentine leg of DL is missing! 🙂
Nah, seriously… congratulations! They are very happy with their FirefoxOS.
    Hug! Paul.

Hopefully in Cuba, the internet booths do not put that version of Firefox that comes without an option to copy paste (the nightmare of every taringuero).

Clarify a question for me ... I understand that you already have free internet access on the island but
Is access from home allowed or do they have to go to a public place? are there hotspots to connect via wifi? And finally the access is really free or is it filtered ???
