Just two days ago it was made public that we have a server IRC own (server, not channel, a server provides many more freedoms and conveniences haha), also ... our paste now we change it to another server (as well as we improve the visual aspect) so now besides looking better, it will work better too 🙂
This has been possible because we acquired a server (VPS) for us, and in it we have the server IRC and our paste, as well as this blog will be moved to the VPS, and this will solve once and for all the problems that the blog sometimes presents (the annoying database error ... caused because the WebHosting where we are right now is a complete and utter disaster).
The problem is that this obviously costs money, as we are not LinuxMint to give us a server with all the resources we dream of hahahaha. And money is precisely what we do not have ... it is not a secret that elav y yo we live in Cuba, our average salary is $ 17 a month, and both allocating money from it to a VPS and withdrawing money through PayPal is, literally, impossible due to our geographical condition.
That is why we need your help, whatever you can ... whatever you decide to just contribute, we will be eternally grateful. It would be great to be able to give them more services ... not just forum + blog + irc ... I don't know, increase the services and include (for example) our own Cloud, storage service for members, our own Streaming service ... and more ideas that we have in mind, But for this we need to grow in hardware resources, that is, buy more RAM and HDD for our VPS, and that is precisely where we need your help (We can try to acquire some type of financing, but it is not an easy task T_T).

For example, to have your own streaming there are several Open Source solutions, but they require a minimum (the most serious) of 2GB of RAM, if we add to that that we want to provide them with an Owncloud, and more ... a single server I do not think will reach 🙁

I explain how the situation is, how we do the procedure and what you want to achieve 🙂
1. Neither elav nor I can manipulate bank or PayPal accounts, since we live in Cuba. So, Perseus is the one who deals with this. In other words, the money donated will NOT go into elav's or mine's accounts (which, in fact, we don't have haha), but will go into the account of DesdeLinux (managed by Perseo), and with that money will buy better hardware resources to DesdeLinux and their services (not clothes or beers hahahaha).
2. I don't know much about this aspect, that is ... I don't have much knowledge about banks, accounts, transactions and that. Perseus could provide better guidance, since neither elav nor I have accounts or anything like that, we have not had the opportunity to learn about these issues.
3. There is no problem about this, I will say the money that is donated, that is, I will leave a post saying what was collected and what was bought with it, I will also leave the link about where and what we bought (VPS) and download the invoice, so that EVERYONE can prove that the money was used for DesdeLinux, that they have the certainty that the site, the services, the community in general were improved.
About the other aspects (those of the letters hahaha) 😀
a) The goals, I suppose you mean what you want to buy right? . Simple, we want to provide Owncloud service, have our own streaming service (and thus NOT depend on Google+), provide services related to privacy and security on the network (this is still Top-Secret haha), we will move the blog to our server (which will make the load on it even higher), and more things that will come to mind.
b) The resources, well, our current VPS has 512MB of RAM, which is very little because when we pass the blog there ... I think that RAM will not even be enough. Then, the ideal would be to buy another server with more RAM, to put other services (Owncloud, Streaming, etc) on it.
