DolphinEmu: Gamecube + Wii Emulator [Installation in ArchLinux]

DolphinEmu A friend recommended it to me, and I said to myself: What if I install it to play Mario Kart? So I did it. The package will be found in Yaourt.

The command to search for it is:

yaourt -Ss dolphin-emu

1

Then we install it and what Yogurt do your magic:

yaourt -S dolphin-emu

2

you have to wait for it to download all the necessary dependencies for Dolphin-emu to work

3

and voila, we have it installed

4

now to download rom from Game Cube I leave this page:

http://coolrom.com/roms/gcn/

Unfortunately for Wii I could not find (a lie I was lazy to search). Once downloaded a rom in my case the Mario Kart, we look for the file

5

and well automatically starts the game

Does anyone know what the minimum hardware requirements are for GameCube games?

I love this emulator, I installed it in opensuse from the 1 click install and it works great.
I would recommend using a controller for games like Mario sunshine, metroid or zelda.
For Mario kart or smash I think that the keyboard is enough since too many buttons are not used.
The wii games that I have tried are those that have compatibility with the gamecube controller (I can't use the wii controller well with the mouse) eg Resident evil 4 and Mario kart wii.

I have tested it on an Intel Core i7, Asus Nvidia GTX660 Ti Graphics, governed by Arch and… it is luxurious! I have tried several Wii games (by the way, you can download them by torrent from http://www.gamestorrents.com/ )

    Very good contribution, Thank you

It keeps running very slow, I have tried the RE Zero, RE Remake and Zelda Twilight Princess (All Nintendo Gamecube).
but the New Super Mario (Wii) runs fine, the bad thing is that I can't finish it because it always stays stuck in a world level 3.

    2 GB of RAM
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz
    Nvidia 310m 512MB

So why do they have the nerve to promote proprietary games on a free software blog?
        That is cynicism.

        1.    dwarf said

Because it is not a free software blog, it is a GNU / Linux blog, Genius, therefore, if it is about Linux in general (its freedom or lack thereof does not matter).

There are people who are sick with the story of free software, you disgust me.

It shows that you are only GNU / Linux users but you have no idea of freedom.
Keep using your Google, Facebook, Dropbox, Skype, Twitter, they are not free, but they defend it to the death.
They come to tears when a proprietary game is released only for Windows and not for Linux, but they do not support free games like TuxRacer at all, in fact, they look at it in less and do not even contribute to the project. Then they call themselves the "free", "the community", yuck ...

      2.    gabriel said

A person who uses GNU / Linux should not play proprietary games, that goes against the principles of free software, it would be fooling himself.
