Doom 3 source code released

Several years ago released the source code for Quake III (Arena), and the next day the first version of openarena.

Not only this, but the source code for Return to Castle Wolfenstein was released last year.

Well, another game for the collection, because a few days ago, as John Carmack promised, Doom 3 source code is already published, And is free software under the GPL, version 3. Although in reality the only thing that is free is the code as such, that is, the music, graphics, images, levels, etc. are still proprietary.

The detail is that Carmack had to modify part of the code not to infringe a patent, specifically the volumetric shading algorithm: «Carmack's inverse».

But nothing, he is released ... now, hehe ... well, to enjoy what is to come.
