DXVK 0.81 and VKD3D 1.1 have been released

For all those fans of native Windows video games under Unix systems, this is good news, since the Wine project is now complemented by two new important releases for the graphic world. One of them is the new launch of the project DXVK version 0.81 for Vulkan-based D3D11 and D3D10 implementations, which can be used in the Wine compatibility layer to install native Microsoft OS software.

Remember that DXVK is a project that aims to make native Windows video games can run and be available for Linux directly in Valve's Steam client for your favorite distro, which triggers the number of titles available for our free system. Among the novelties that DXVK 0.81 implements is the performance improvement in terms of 32-bits, less overhead for the CPU with a new optimization, and new configuration options added, bugs fixed ...

But the good news doesn't end here, as VKD3D arrives with its version 1.1, another of the important projects for the world of videogames, since it is another complement for Wine that brings support for translation of the Direct3D library to Vulkan so that they can work with this powerful graphical API. In this new version some improvements have been added, but we can highlight above all 3 main ones that I will now describe.

Those included improvements that I speak of go through better support, that includes support for some resources, for MoltenVK, for geometry shaders, etc. I hope it continues moving forward like this because the future of videogames with these two projects could be promising in the absence of more native titles for Linux and more studios like Feral that want to carry titles ... I am sure that the videogame industry follows these very closely advances, at least Valve is one of the great beneficiaries.
