Elementary theme with support for GTK 3

One of the best themes for GTK has been updated to version 3.0, the first stable that supports GTK3.

List of changes in elementary GTK 3:

  • Support for GTK3.
  • elementary 3.0 now uses the GTK Unico engine.
  • Support for Granite (which is used by many applications that come by default in elementary OS Luna, such as BeatBox, etc.).
  • The default place for buttons is now close: maximize.
  • The classic maximize icon ("+") has changed to two opposite arrows.
  • Some minor changes.

This theme does not work in Unity or GNOME Shell at the moment. At the same time, it only works with the latest version of GTK3 (3.4).

To install it, we must first download the next file.

We unzip it in a folder created for this purpose called elementary, which we will move to ~ / themes (if it doesn't exist we create it) or to / usr / share / themes / if we want the theme to be available to all users.

This topic is undoubtedly one of the best that we can find for GTK3, the bad thing is that for reasons of time the developers have not put support for unity, the good thing is that it is very easy to put the support here I leave you a topic which is a modification of elementary GTK with support for unity in this way you can take the folder called unity and put it in the theme to have a partial support in the unity bar.
