Well, it is a joke that should be taken very seriously. At the rate we are going, I think that Ubuntu-based distros will lose prominence in favor of those based directly on Debian, such as LMDE.
I don't know if it's also a joke or something like that, but Kubuntu's Google+ profile suggests a new name for the distro due to the "decanonalization" it would be called kawaii as a first idea ...

I didn't remember the salao this day ... I almost ate the story the first time hahaha .. but then I thought Xubuntu .. if I take the X off it is Ubuntu and no ... I don't think Xubuntu developers will switch to Debian. .
One doubt, if ubuntu and xubuntu are based on debian is their packages, according to testing or experiment but they debug, modify and adapt these packages for their distro, but does debian benefit from this effort. 0.o?
There is feedback, minimal, but there is from Canonical. That is perhaps the biggest benefit Debian gets.
Hahaha very good, I was already happy because I use xubuntu and then basing it on debian would not do anything other than make it lighter and more stable ... but it's all for April's fool day 🙁
haha I had already made my mouth water .. with Xubuntu Based on Debian…. I did not think that the Ubuntu people made jokes, as they do in football when supposedly a club signs a player lol .. I almost believe it 😉

The truth is, I think that the installation would not be exactly for newbies, maybe average users, I really do not believe it for some reason, and above they are saying that they are jokes but we must admit that xubuntu based on debian would be nothing more than a debian with XFCE it sounds like redundant and without grace in case it's a joke.
