Fedora 18 alpha available!

Nicknamed Spherical Cow, Fedora 18 Alpha is powered by Linux kernel 3.5.3 and add numerous new features y bug fixes.

Fedora 18 Alpha ships on DVD and Live CD ISO images with GNOME, KDE, Xfce, LXDE, and Sugar on a Stick (SoaS) editions for 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.

Anaconda with a new look

One of the most interesting features of F18 alpha is the new look of Anaconda, the installation wizard that has radically changed its appearance to try to simplify and clarify the installation process. To upgrade, either having F14 installed, to F18 directly, just do PreUpgrade, and that's it.

Yes, every time a version of Ubuntu, Fedora or Linux Mint comes out we do an extensive tutorial «What to do after installing ...».
Maybe Fedora 17 will work for you: http://usemoslinux.blogspot.com/2012/06/que-hacer-despues-de-instalar-fedora-17.html Cheers! Paul.

Okay. Paul! I would be surprised if DVDs no longer have the capacity for that use. Although as everything progresses, there may come a time that Units with more capacity than the already known 4.7gb are needed

I know it is a lot to ask, maybe when it is ready, FEDORA 18 explains a little how to update the ones that we have FEDORA 17 without uninstalling it on 17 if possible.

Although remembering right now in your blog has an index that I think there is something about updates. I'm going to look for it to move forward.

I still have to read all the articles that are in the index. Although some are from last year but they will surely serve me.

    Regards,

At the moment, the idea is that it fits on a DVD.
    Cheers! Paul.

I'm curious about FEDORA 18. But I don't want to install it yet because it's in testing.
And also I have just come to LINUX and I do not have much experience in updating so I better wait to install it.

I was seeing that to download it is something big but I'm wrong it has almost 4.1 gb.

Now I have a question and it is that if in the future the programs would pass the 4.7gb that a DVD has? Or will they compress it to fit on the DVD?

I hope it is better than 17, since I have burned tabs problems in the updates, so all very good distro !!!

Its installation is not recommended as it is a trial version. Cheers! Paul.

And when do you estimate that it will be 100% finished? For now, how recommendable is it to install it? Or how do you suggest that we install it on a new partition? without replacing Fedora 18?
