Fedora 26 will stop receiving support on June 1, update now

fedora28

The Fedora Project announced today that Fedora 26 will stop receiving full support on June 1, 2018, calling on all users of this version of the system to update to maintain security and stability.

Eleven months ago Fedora 26 was officially released with GNOME 3.24 as the graphical environment and the DNF 2.5 package manager, almost 10,000 packages were published from its launch until June 1, when official support is terminated.

After June 1, Fedora 26 users will not receive updates of any kindNo more security patches, no more bug fixes or updates, that's why the Fedora project leader has recommended upgrading to Fedora 28 or 27 before the designated date.

Upgrade to Fedora 28 now

Users who still have Fedora 26 have 2 days (today and tomorrow) to update to the latest version, Fedora 28, although the option to upgrade to Fedora 27 is also available, a version that will be supported for another six months until the release of Fedora 29.

To update Fedora 26 to a newer version you can follow a tutorial created by the same Fedora developers on the official page. It is urgent that all Fedora 26 users update as soon as possible to avoid any complications and more importantly, to keep their computer safe.

It is recommended to upgrade to Fedora 28 directly as it is a more advanced version than Fedora 27 and will have at least one more year of support, until the summer of 2019. Fedora 28 brings with it GNOME 3.28, Linux Kernel 4.15, and other updated components.

If you are not convinced to use Fedora 28 remember that you can always create an executable version on a USB to test the latest news without installing, although we recommend updating.

The only bad thing about Fedora (AT LEAST FOR ME) is gnome…. I don't like the Spins that Fedora offers…. Outside of That, Fedora is a great distro

The good thing about Fedora is that it has more support than ubuntu (Non LTS),
