Fedora 29 Beta will be released next week

It's been a few months since what was announced the official release of the latest stable version of Fedora, which is Fedora 28.

Since then, Fedora developers have dedicated part of your job to develop to what would become the next version of Fedora 29.

Although the guys behind the development of this excellent Linux distribution have a release schedule, these dates have not always been met.

The beta is not ready yet

The Fedora 29 Beta was scheduled to have a release scheduled around September 14 of the current year.

Although this has almost become a habit: the system preview will not be available this week as planned, but on September 25… hopefully.

The developers are still working on the release candidate for beta, but lThe main bugs have not been resolved yet, including one especially, although it does not affect desktop computers, if it affects a pocket one

And is that the system does not currently start on the Raspberry Pi.

The Fedora developers had a meeting a couple of days ago, where they talked a bit about the matter and publicizing the errors that were raised at the time, it was decided that the beta version was not yet ready to ship.

Although there were 5 candidate versions to be released as beta, these had a series of errors of which some GNOME errors were the main ones.

Although it can be thought that a Beta version is precisely released in order to find as many errors as possible before the changes are polished and the defects fixed to be able to launch a stable version.

The reality is that these Beta versions must be somewhat "stable" so to speak and that both common users who intend to browse a bit as well as developers and knowledgeable people can contribute their grain of sand.

Beta versions are ultimately the most important. The optional tests are less, but still useful to run.

The milestone indicates that for the publication of that milestone or for approval of a subsequent release, the test must have been run against the release candidate version (therefore, in Beta, all alpha and beta tests must have been run, for example ).

However, it is important to run tests for all milestones as early and as frequently as possible.

To wait

Finally, neither can the development group be blamed or cross out a breach of dates, because at the end of the day it is a Beta version in which it is working to be able to offer it as stable as possible.

And I say this thinking in comparison to "buntu" where just a few days after having released a "stable" version they already launch the test snapshots of what would be their next version.

Just wait for those who are interested in obtaining what the next Fedora Beta will be and see what they have in mind and the innovation plans that many of us expect, of which at least in its previous version made a big difference.

With a list of the bugs that still have to be solved and the launch of the new Fedora 29 Beta is already being worked on.

The remediation process has been described and started on September 14th, and as all goes well, the project believes that the Fedora 29 trial version will be ready next week.

For the moment, the Beta version of Fedora 29 will arrive in final version at the end of October. If the beta continues to be rejected, the date could also fail.
