Finally selected the new sound theme for Ubuntu

After one survey carried out based on 4 final proposals, the new audio theme that will include by default has already been selected Ubuntu 12.04 and although I did not put it in the title of the post, at least I do not like the choice.

The winning tone can be lowered from this link. For the next stage it is intended to make it more human, less synthesized, increase the warmth of the tone and tighten the final note. I particularly liked the #2 of the four final proposals. You can see the results of the survey and the comments in this post.

It had been speculated that Canonical would not include any sound in the next version of Ubuntu because they considered it unnecessary and slowed the start of the session. But in the end things will not be like this. Even as far as I could read, they were requesting one for session input, and for notifications.

    <° Ubuntu ... LOL !!!

    1.    Courage said

Well, I don't see the humor in it, because this is precisely the type of article I was referring to with "not to mention so much Ubuntu blowjob."

If instead of Ubuntu it had been KDE or even mentioned.

Here we talk about when Ubuntu released its new font, just like when LinuxMint released theirs (a disaster ...), as well as KDE 🙂

        1.    Courage said

Of course and the wallpapers, that Fedora was not even talked about, etc.

You know perfectly what i mean

          1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

Yes, there you are right, we did not talk about the Fedora elav nor I, personally I did not take the trouble to see them, I do not like Fedora at all ... neither its packages (RPM), nor its artwork, so I did not even see these new walls , because I am sorry to open other sites ... now, if you had made a post with the walls, there I would have known them 😀

But yes, I understand your point of view.

          2.    Courage said

And you will pass it through the lining as Canonical does with what the ubunteros think hahaha

Damn, let's see why they can't put on "Laid To Rest" by Lamb Of God !!!!!

    1.    Jamin samuel said

AJAJAJAAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA .. it would be spectacular to open a section in ubuntu and let it sound lamb of god \ o /

      1.    Ozzar said

It wouldn't be very compatible with Precise Pangolin, right?… XDDD

    2.    Courage said

$ huttlegates is capable of putting reggaeton before Lamb Of God, regayton is what it sells, so much so that even KZKG ^ Gaara and elav have switched to reggaeton, when supposedly they like metal

Man the sound theme is not bad, but the two were much better.

  4.   KZKG ^ Gaara said

I don't know why these sounds remind me of Mac ... mmm, nah, Ubuntu would never copy anything from Mac, they must be my ideas and paranoias 😀

    1.    Courage said

Of course, since I'm not there at that moment, you have to do the cheap imitation, right?

  7.   Ozzar said

Well, I didn't like any of them, what's more, the first thing I always do is deactivate those sounds.

  8.   Jamin samuel said

The first thing I'll do is install gnome shell xD (if I haven't switched to debian or fedora before April 26)

  9.   ubuntero said

    I like the first

  10.   Rayonant said

Well, the truth is, it is one of the first things that I deactivate to reduce the startup time, but to be honest I liked the old Ubuntu sound much more.

For Elav: as always, a tip to improve the style. Instead of "based on", use "based on" which is more logical and precise.

For Courage: if it bothers you so much that they talk about Bubuntu and Coñónical and you demand that they not talk about the news of Fedora or Arch, why don't you do it? You can directly write articles on this blog, so you just take the initiative yourself and share that other news with readers.

    1.    Courage said

I already do that, but I have no imagination to write, so I write less.

You have to play all the distros equally, it doesn't matter if it's me, elav or El Arenoso

    2.    elav <° Linux said

Thanks for the suggestion ^^ they are always welcome

I am already using debian testing 😀 the only detail is that I download the .deb from google chrome and it does not appear in the menus 🙁 I can open chromium but chrome is not visible 🙁 another thing is that I do not know how to put the Arial letters .. what ideas can you give me elav <° Linux?

        1.    Courage said

That is the problem of Debian, intolerance to packages with something registered

        2.    elav <° Linux said

Arial? WTF? Well, I guess just taking the Windows font and copying it to the Linux fonts folder should work if that's what you mean. 😀

Normally when I have installed Google Chrome from the .deb if the icon appears in the menu. Try opening a terminal and putting:

          $ google-chrome

          1.    Jamin samuel said

Ok I managed to open it now, how can I make it stay in the menus? excuse my ignorance but I like to learn 🙂

          2.    Jamin samuel said

ok it is no longer necessary and I managed to make it appear in the menus 🙂 but nevertheless thank you \ ø /

          3.    Courage said

i guess just grabbing windows font and copying it to linux fonts folder

Am I right or not? If I say that this is dirty it is because it is, it goes without saying that I copy the Windows sources ...

Any advice, solution or idea regarding not having audio in the front part while in debian testing?

          5.    Jamin samuel said

The sources do not matter that is not a problem for me .. the problem that I have for now is that the audio from the front where I have headphones connected does not sound but the horns that are connected to the back of my pc do sound .. change the headphones and they are great, I connect the horns forward to rule out doubts and no audio comes out from the front but from behind it!

The one who tells me the problem you have is this uffff I will make a statue for him, since that for me represents a problem ..plis help
