Firefox 20 available

Firefox 20 is now available for download on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. This is one of the most important updates made recently, taking into account the improvements, including the new download manager and private browsing by tab.

New download manager

As shown in the image, users can enjoy a new Download manager in Firefox, now the download progress monitor is replaced by a simpler and more comfortable to use, which will also allow us to open the file or see the folder where was downloaded.

Private browsing in a new window

Another novelty that comes to us is the incorporation of private browsing through windows. In previous versions, when we wanted to switch to private browsing mode, we had to completely change the mode, temporarily losing the tabs that we had open. Now we can use them at the same time, allowing us to consult, for example, several webmail accounts (work in one window and personal in another).

This new feature is also available in Firefox for Android, in this case being able to open private browsing tabs instead of windows.

Other improvements

  • Ability to close the plugins that are giving us problems.
  • Performance improvements in page loading, downloads, closing, etc.
  • Improvements in the clear () and Math.imul implementation of the ECMAScript 6 draft.
  • New JavaScript Profiler tool.
  • Implemented getUserMedia to access the users webcam and microphone (with their permission).
  • Canvas now supports blend modes.

I highly recommend visiting the complete list of news.

Linux Kernel Breach comes as a rude shock to many of us, as we all associate security and dependability when it comes to Linux.vpn for linux

I think it is excellent that a private window can now be opened separately as in Chrome, finally, in addition to that I will surely notice the improvements in performance with use, because I have felt the improvement in speed with each update c:

I installed it well and I really like that the download window is on the right and that it displays every time you click it but without doing anything now every time I do it, it no longer displays but a new window opens. I tried disabling the Unity compatibility plugins but there is no case ... does anyone have any idea how to make it look like the beginning?

Actually browsing through private tabs is not so, what it does is open a new window with private browsing and that window does not allow it to be added to the open browser ... let's say they are different "sessions". They solved the issue as chrome solved it. But well worse is nothing.

It's true ... but it's appreciated, right? It was something that Firefox lacked.
