Firefox OS Simulator 3 available

The Mozilla Foundation has announced that the final version of Firefox OS Simulator 3.0 is finally available, an application that allows us to evaluate how this platform works on PCs and laptops that use Linux, Windows or Mac OS.

This new version includes some extra features such as support for rotation and geolocation.

Among the novelties of Firefox OS Simulator 3.0, the possibility of sending the application that we are developing to a physical phone via USB connection, with the option “Push to Device” stands out. It also incorporates updated versions of the rendering engine and the Gaia user interface libraries (the new Firefox OS interface) as well as shortcuts for reinstalling or restarting applications.

The size of the simulator is now smaller, so both downloading and starting the application is faster.

Finally, it should be mentioned that the installation documentation it also improves significantly.

To install Firefox OS Simulator 3.0 we must add a complement to the Firefox web browser, this being a requirement to be able to use the simulator. Then, it will be a matter of launching the simulator together with all the developer tools that the Mozilla Foundation is currently offering to facilitate the work of programmers.

Testing. This development seems interesting, although in my opinion it has a lot left. One thing is for sure, and that is that it seems to be much lighter and more manageable than Android
