The first compilations of Elementary OS 6 are now available so that users can try all the new features of this update higher before the launch happens.
The development team announced this last week that the first builds can now be downloaded from a new website.
"The previous weeks, we quietly released builds.elementary.io. This new website hosts the first compilations of Elementary OS 6 so that developers, enthusiasts and users can get involved with the new features of this next release." mentions Cassidy James, co-founder and CXO.
Massive changes in Elementary OS 6
There are many changes in Elementary OS and one of the ones you will notice first is a fresh and revamped design.
In addition to the dark mode for system components such as the dock and settings, we will have the ability to choose user colors for apps, ademas de typography and styles, with improved contrast and rounded corners in various apps.
Elementary OS 6 promises a massive update to the organization and communication apps that come with the system. All are powered by the servers of Changes and some like Mail and Tasks have been rewritten.
"Installation should be much faster, asking only the essentials to get into the system, this is good for the OEMs because they can use the new installer as a system image or install the system without a user so that the initial settings are made on the first power-up.Cassidy mentions.
