Continuing my unsatisfactory search to replace Google Reader , I came across FluxReader , and so far from what I've tried, it's becoming the ideal replacement.
FluxReader has a minimalist interface, and by using Bootstrap it achieves a look very similar to Google Reader , which earns it a +1. Another point in its favor: it's incredibly fast.
For now, it only has the basic features of an RSS reader. It allows us to import our subscriptions from Google Reader , but not directly; first we have to download the .xml file.
But it's not all perfect. It's a brand-new product, and of course, it's missing some features. So far, I don't know if it updates automatically or if you have to click the Update button.
Another issue is that I haven't found a way to manage my RSS feeds, so I haven't been able to delete any. Hey! But what did you expect? It still has a long way to go, but for me, it's the best alternative to Google Reader currently available.
Now, someone might ask, "What about Feedly ?" Well , Feedly is terrible. It's hosted on code.google.com, and those bastards don't allow my country to access their resources, so it's useless to me. Plus, it's way too slow for my liking.
If you want to use FluxReader , you have to submit a request to try it, as it's currently in beta. My approval took two days.
