Elav prefers games of cars and before (when he had more free time) he spent hours looking for sites that offered him some Car games entertaining, others prefer games of digital workplace strategy, I have always preferred RPGs.
Years ago when I used Windows as my main operating system, I know that like many, I spent a great deal of time playing games. At that time my favorite was undoubtedly WoW, I also liked Siege of Avalon and Diablo 2. Fortunately, here in Linux we have an RPG with a high quality, although it does not reach the level of Diablo 2, it is free, for Linux and it's in our repository.
FreeDroid RPG
Freedroid RPG is as its name indicates an RPG, it means Role Playing Game.
The game takes place on a world that has suffered a war between robots and humans, as we can see the robots have won because of what they appropriated the GNU / GPL license, we will find ourselves in a world where Free Software no longer exists. What if this happens in real life would it be one of those curious news? … the typical: "creation of humans ends up enslaving them»… Hehe.
We play the role of Tux, immersed in an adventure in which we will have to save the world from robots…. or no, maybe we are always tired of being on the side of the good guys and this time we decided to be one of the bad guys, BUA JUAZ JUAZ !!
FreeDroid RPG allows us like any good RPG that our character has an Inventory, through which we can manipulate / use various objects, well clothes, weapons, etc. Also, we have a menu of Skills or Abilities, because our Tux can learn to do new things, spells, etc.
We will also have to make decisions, through the dialogues or responses that we give to the characters we meet (humans or robots) we can later choose a side. Let's just say that history is not always the same or straight.
Here are the keyboard controls:
FreeDroid RPG Installation
In their repository they will have a package called freedroidrpg, they must install it and that's it.
In Debian, Ubuntu and derivatives it would be:
sudo apt-get install freedroidrpg
In ArchLinux and others similar it would be:
sudo pacman -S freedroidrpg
End
I hope you enjoy the game ... and remember, don't be evil!
I loved this game. I have to admit that to finish it I edited the saved game file and put on a dagger of lives and energy. But I still enjoyed it a lot 🙂
