Surely the vast majority of our readers The name "LimeWire" will sound quite familiar to you. which was quite a famous p2p and BitTorrent client a few years ago. With LimeWire, it was fairly easy to share and search information using these protocols.

Though This project is discontinued, there are still some programs that are bifurcations of this and the application that we are going to talk about today is one of them.

FrostWire is an open source BitTorrent client written in the Java programming language based on the LimeWire client.

This application supports Gnutella and BitTorrent network. One of the peculiarities of this client is its speed and its availability in almost all operating systems with versions in Windows, Mac OS, GNU / Linux and Android.

About FrostWire

Frostwire in its beginnings it was a file sharing program which used the same source code and peer-to-peer network as the popular LimeWire software.

Although nowadays this client no longer has this feature, if not that it has been positioned as a BitTorrent client, there is the possibility of being able to use previous versions that will allow the exchange of files (p2p).

But this is not in our interest and we will focus on your torrent client features.

This client uses and optimizes the connection speed To help you download files at an accelerated rate, although FrostWire also runs slowly on your computer, you can improve the performance of the manual optimization software.

It has a simple search tool makes it easy to search for certain videos, audio files, images, documents or programs.

Or it simply allows us to search for Torrents in the "Torrents" tab where we only have to enter any keyword that could appear in your Torrent file name.

This application allows them to select search engines (for example, ClearBits Mininova, Isohunt, btjunkie, ExtraTorrent, Vertor, The Pirate Bay, Monova etc.) and file types (of everything, documents, programs, audio, video, images or torrents).

While a built-in search function allows you to find what you are looking for according to a keyword entered by the user.

The results can be viewed in the main window, along with details such as size, font (and external link), creation date, quality and type of extension.

This program comes with an audio player, while it is also possible to access a long list of radio channels, see the information related to them and an external link, as well as listen to them or add other stations simply by entering the URL.

It is also highly configurable. The Options section allows you to set speed limits, import newly downloaded songs into iTunes, settings for keyword input filters, and a proxy connection.
