GitHub Beta for Android is here

GitHub for Android

GitHub, now owned by Microsoft, is a great open source platform that allows you to do a multitude of things. From the development of complete projects, to uploading small code snippets to share, discussing the design or development of a program, reviewing lines of code, downloading the source code of projects to compile or install them on your operating system, collaborate, etc.

The problem is that until recently it was not available for mobile devices, not long ago they released the Beta for iOS. Now there is already a Beta version also for the Android platform, so you can enjoy and work with GitHub in a better way on your smartphone or tablet, without having to depend on the website directly. Just as you would with GitHub Desktop on a Microsoft Windows system, or with the client for Linux that also has some GUIs to use intuitively.

In fact, if you were up-to-date on developments and were on the waiting list for the GitHub Android app, then the email announcement may have already reached you. There you will find the link for try this app now. Hurry, because there will be only a limited number to test it (although the developers have announced that they will allow more and more to test progressively)! Keep in mind that both iOS and Android are betas, and something may not work quite right yet.

To try it now, you can try your luck and register here. If you get it, the app is quite good in terms of appearance, with a simple interface to use everything you need from GitHub. In addition, it also includes a dark mode in case you want to activate it. Little by little their functions and operation will improve, but from now on you can review the source code, combine changes, collaborate from anywhere, etc. And by the way, I don't want to forget that it will only work with Android 5.1 or higher ...
