Tip: Always update with Update-Manager in LMDE

If you are a user of LMDE and you don't use the official repositories for this distro, it is advisable that you always update using Update Manager (Update Manager) and not Synaptic o Apt.

For example, despite using LMDE I use the official repositories of Debian Testing and of course, there are packages that can conflict, such as VLC. The difference between the Update Managersy Synaptic, is that the first one will never show you any update for those packages that conflict with others that are already installed.

That is why my advice is to always use The Update Manager to update the system if you don't want crashes or unexpected problems 😀

    Thank you.
I congratulate you on your page and despite being relatively new to LMDE, I can see the excellent contribution that taking and exploiting these issues means from the point of view of those of us who have not yet mastered much of this beautiful world of Linux distros.
For reasons of resources (PC P4 with 256 Mb) and ethics (I did not want to hack W… .ows), I opted to use Debian 6.0 and from there GNU / Linux caught me.
Now that I found LMDE I think there is no more to look for ...
    Thank you again.
