GNOME Split is a tool that is written in Java and makes use of GTK + that allows us to divide files and then be able to rejoin them into one. |
Some of its characteristics:
- Split and join files using the GNOME Split format.
- Split and join files using the Xtremsplit format.
- Split and join files using a generic format like "cat"
- Check the integrity of files using MD5
- Assistant to facilitate the operation to new users.
- Speed indicator.
In order to install it in Ubuntu 9.10, we are going to open the terminal and paste the following:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome-split-team/ppa
Then we update the repositories with:
sudo aptitude update
and we install:sudo aptitude install gnome-split
