In English it is called "Me on the Web", whose translation would be "Me on the web«. On the page created for this purpose, only the title "Control Panel" appears, but it is equally useful for control what is said about oneself in news, forums or websites. In addition, it shows tips to remove the material in case it is not successful or to the liking of the affected person. |
To use it, just have a Google account y associate profile in different services, then you access the address created for this purpose. Once inside Google breaks down by epigraphs the actions and mentions of the user in different services of the Network. The second is "presence on the Internet", the real novelty, from there it allows to create alerts to receive at the moment a link with the content that may affect us and the procedure for requesting removal.
In a post on Google's privacy blog, authored by Andreas Tuerk , the motivation behind this service is explained : "We understand that in a comment, someone might want to use their real name, but prefer to upload a video under a pseudonym. To help unify the reputation of different brands, we created this option. However, online reputation is not determined solely by what we publish, but also by what others say about us."
According to this new option, Google advises following these steps : "Search for yourself on Google. Create a Google profile. Remove unwanted content and associated search results. Receive notifications when your personal information appears on the web."
This is truly chilling . We are facing the future Skynet, I mean Google.
